The viral Central Park smoochfest between two lawyers was just the tip of the iceberg, The Post can reveal.<\/p>\n

William \u201cBill\u201d Savitt, 63, one of the country\u2019s leading corporate litigators, and senior partner Sarah Eddy were getting in each other\u2019s briefs while working together at white-shoe firm Wachtell Lipton, according to legal sources.<\/p>\n

Sources insist that Wachtell Lipton does not have a non-fraternization policy, so their relationship did not violate any of the firm\u2019s rules.<\/p>\n

Savitt just jumped from Wachtell Lipton to rival Gibson Dunn this week for a massive $96 million pay package \u2014 after he helped secure OpenAI CEO Sam Altman\u2019s courtroom victory over Elon Musk in a $150 billion lawsuit. <\/p>\n

He took Eddy and four other senior partners from the litigation team with him, in a move that has been the talk of Big Law. <\/p>\n

Eddy, a divorced Canadian who\u2019s also a Harvard Law School lecturer, worked on Savitt\u2019s team, but she was not his subordinate, sources said.<\/p>\n

Savitt is on the verge of finalizing a divorce from his wife, designer Nazak Savitt, following three years of separation, according to the sources. They had shared a ritzy $5.4 million Upper West Side apartment in The Chatsworth building.<\/p>\n

Eddy and Savitt are no longer believed to be together, and it is unclear when they ended their romantic relationship.<\/p>\n

It began after Savitt separated from his wife, the sources said \u2014 and did not violate any Wachtell policy because the firm has no rule prohibiting relationships between colleagues.<\/p>\n

Eddy divorced her husband 10 years ago and was single at the time she began her relationship with Savitt, the sources said.<\/p>\n

Savitt and Eddy were previously recognized as \u201cLitigators of the Week\u201d by The American Lawyer for their role in securing a unanimous jury verdict in favor of Open AI in the Musk v. Altman case in California, according to a since-removed press release from Wachtell Lipton.<\/p>\n

The married big shot was also the supervisor of lip-locking lawyers Nathaniel Cullerton, 45, and Kelsey Borenzweig, 29, who also worked on the Altman v. Musk case and were caught on camera canoodling in Central Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cullerton, a junior partner, was also meant to make the move to Gibson Dunn \u2014 but the firm reneged following a viral TikTok video showing the pair filing private motions on a park bench.<\/p>\n

Cullerton\u2019s offer from Gibson Dunn was rescinded not simply because of the viral video, but because of the power imbalance it exposed, sources said \u2014 Borenzweig was a junior associate who worked directly under Cullerton on the same team.<\/p>\n

When contacted by The Post Wednesday night, Savitt denied that his relationship with Eddy constituted an affair.<\/p>\n

Legal sources added that Savitt, who is listed as a co-chair of Gibson Dunn\u2019s global litigation practice group on the firm\u2019s website, secured an eye-watering $32 million a year package in his move to the rival firm \u2014 amounting to a guaranteed $96 million over three years.<\/p>\n

Savitt had no comment when asked by The Post about his payout.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a source close to the situation told The Post that the $96 million figure \u201cisn\u2019t in even in the ballpark of close.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post reached out to Gibson Dunn and Sarah Eddy Wednesday night for comment but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

Cullerton was placed on a leave of absence from Wachtell Lipton pending investigation in the aftermath of the now-viral liplocking TikTok, legal sources said.<\/p>\n
