What a cowardly and shameful final chapter for Dr. Anthony Fauci, who pleaded the Fifth 111 times in the Senate Wednesday even though he has a pre-emptive presidential pardon that gives him immunity from prosecution.<\/p>\n

In the history of Congress, only a couple of mob bosses have invoked the privilege more.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer, based upon my rights, under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution,\u201d the Machiavellian career bureaucrat said over and over in the nearly three-hour hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.<\/p>\n

But Fauci\u2019s silence rendered him a villain more powerfully than his usual sly deceptions.<\/p>\n

Shameful, too, were the Democrats and their media handmaidens who continue to run cover for Fauci, singing his praises, and denying their flock the truth about a man who filled his pandemic \u00addiary with self-praise and celebrity worship while remaining callously aloof from the human suffering he had caused.<\/p>\n

Fauci on Wednesday was comforted by the praise of Democrat senators who hailed him as a hero, thanked him for his \u201cservice to this nation\u201d and sympathized with him as a \u201cscapegoat\u201d of right-wing conspiracy theorists.<\/p>\n

New Jersey Sen. Andy Kim even quoted Theodore Roosevelt\u2019s \u201cMan in the Arena\u201d speech to valorize Fauci, the former top US infectious-disease expert who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for \u00addecades.<\/p>\n

Like the Black Knight in \u201cMonty Python,\u201d still pugnacious after being reduced to a bloody stump, the Fauci puffers refuse to see they have no leg left to stand on.<\/p>\n

The damage their censorship did during COVID, and their dishonest glossing of Fauci\u2019s reputation, damns them. <\/p>\n

Yet instead of self-reflection in the face of overwhelming evidence of Fauci\u2019s complicity in one of the deadliest man-made health crises in history, they double down. <\/p>\n

History will not be kind to them, either.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdmit it was a mistake to fund dangerous research in China,\u201d said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), the Fauci nemesis who leads the committee and is also a medical doctor who has closely studied the virus and the way it was engineered to hurt humans.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdmit that the risk of this dangerous research exceeded any possible benefits. Ask forgiveness, and pledge to help our government devise safeguards, so a man-made epidemic never happens again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monstrous sins<\/h2>\n

There is no defending Fauci. <\/p>\n

His sins are too monstrous. <\/p>\n
