Mayor Zohran Mamdani must do something for the people of New York, the folks he pretends to represent.<\/p>\n

Mamdani must skip the 25th anniversary commemoration of the 9\/11 terror attacks.<\/p>\n

While New York City grieves, the mayor should vanish. He must not show his face anywhere near Ground Zero, the hallowed earth in lower Manhattan where the World Trade Center once stood. The spot where nearly 3,000 people were murdered on a beautiful September morning by a band of Islamic butchers bent on releasing hell.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a place for mourning, not leftist politics.<\/p>\n

Mr. Mayor, I beg you, get lost. It\u2019s the decent thing to do.<\/p>\n

If just one person who lost a loved one on that dark day objected to his presence, he should, respectfully, bow out of the ceremony.\u00a0But there are many who have signed a petition asking that Mamdani be barred from the event.<\/p>\n

Mamdani, who was a child on Sept. 11, 2001, has no connection to the pain suffered to this day, and no right to commandeer attention from the people who deserve to be remembered. This is an event belonging to the generations of children growing up without parents, to spouses whose life partners were ripped from their sides, and parents who lost grown children forever.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s shown a shocking disregard to the scarred people of this city, a deep-seated animus, bordering on hatred, to the values dear to the people of this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur objection is based on his public record \u2014 his failure to meaningfully acknowledge the horror of that day, and his employment of, support for, or association with individuals who have minimized 9\/11, defended terrorists, or even suggested America \u2018deserved\u2019 the attacks,\u201d said Giovanni Galante, 55 \u2013 whose 29-year-old wife, Grace Catherine Galante, was among 2,977 innocents killed by al-Qaeda terrorists.<\/p>\n

Mamdani\u2019s well-documented hatred toward the state of Israel, America\u2019s great ally and the spiritual home of millions of New Yorkers, should be enough to disqualify him from taking part in 9\/11\u2019s anniversary. But it\u2019s just the beginning.<\/p>\n

Mamdani showed his twisted sympathies by the company he keeps and the resentments he bears. He palled around during the mayoral campaign with terror-sympathizers and worse. One was Imam Siraj Wahhaj, a gay-hating Brooklyn Muslim leader and unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, a precursor to the 9\/11 attacks.<\/p>\n

Mamdani defiled his temporary home at Gracie Mansion by breaking post-Ramadan bread with Mahmoud Khalil, the lead organizer of the 2024 anti-Israel tentifada at Columbia University, and his family.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

He enthusiastically endorsed the congressional race of fellow Democratic Socialists of America alum Darializa Avila Chevalier, who once called the US \u201ca f\u2014ing disgrace\u201d and boasted that she desecrated the American flag by using it like a napkin to wipe her hands.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s his wife. Amid her disturbing social media trail, Rama Duwaji \u201cliked\u201d an Instagram post that dismissed investigations into Hamas\u2019s October 7, 2023, sexual violence as a \u201cmass rape hoax\u201d perpetuated by The New York Times.<\/p>\n

His presence at the commemoration would bring his warped brand of politics into what should be a sacred, solemn occasion. A time for reflection and unity. Not strife and dissension. Twenty-five years. A quarter century of unimaginable pain. To those who lived through it, the time has gone by in a flash. Allow
us this day to grieve as one.<\/p>\n

\u201cStay home, please. And ensure your wife does the same,\u201d wrote one petition-signer, a first responder named Debra. \u201cThat in itself would be a service to this city.\u201d<\/p>\n
