Iran escalated its barbaric executions of anti-regime protesters Tuesday, holding public hangings for two men at the same spot where they demanded change in January.<\/p>\n

Harrowing video captured the moment scores of Iranians yelled in defiance as the regime carried out the public execution of\u00a0Abolfazl Sepahi Badjani and Amir Hossein Safari Hosseinabadi in Isfahan\u2019s Shahid Alikhani Square. <\/p>\n

\u201cDishonorable, dishonorable!\u201d the crowd chanted at the security forces for executing the men, according to the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) group. <\/p>\n

Badjani and Hosseinabadi were last together at the same square during the January protests that erupted across Iran against the brutal regime and its handling of the country\u2019s economy. <\/p>\n

The protests turned chaotic on Jan. 8 and 9 when Tehran\u2019s security forces cracked down on dissent, with the two men being among 12 accused of killing four security guards during one of the demonstrations in Alikhani Square. <\/p>\n

Four of the 12 accused have now been killed by Tehran, with the United Nations\u2019 Human Rights Office warning that the eight other young men convicted in the case are at immediate risk of execution.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe young men, aged between late teens and early twenties, were reportedly arbitrarily deprived of their liberty, in some cases being subjected to enforced disappearance, ill-treated and accused of involvement in the killing of four security force members, as well as arson and vandalism during the 8 January 2026 protests in Shahid Alikhani Square in Isfahan,\u201d the UN office wrote. <\/p>\n

The 12 men in the case were allegedly denied the right to choose their lawyers, with even their court-appointed attorneys being denied access to the case file, the NCRI said. <\/p>\n

Like the other protesters convicted by the state, Badjani and Hosseinabadi were made to confess to the charges in a court broadcast, which human rights groups say are made under duress and to instill fear amongst Iran\u2019s dissidents. <\/p>\n

The eight remaining prisoners in the Alikhani Square were identified as Alireza Sepahi, 24, Ghaem Hosseini, 20, Shervin Bagherian, 18, Amirhossein Ebrahimi Analucheh, 19, Amirhossein Maleki, 19, Ali Dashti,19, Abolfazl Ebrahimi, 18, and Alireza Raeisi, 21.<\/p>\n

Badjani and Hosseinabadi\u2019s executions mark the 25th and 26th hangings of the January protesters, with hundreds of the demonstrators on death row.<\/p>\n

The hangings also coincided with the 16th day of the hunger strike at the Ghezel Hesar jail demanding an end to the surge in executions, with Iran hanging 424 people so far this year, according to the Oslo-based Iran Human Rights NGO. <\/p>\n
