A wife who was murdered alongside her six children by her husband had accused him of having an affair with a younger intern in explosive Reddit posts, according to a report.<\/p>\n

Kristopher Karolkiewicz, 47, fatally shot the children \u2014 ages 5 to 15 \u2014 and his wife, Amanda \u201cMandy\u201d Karolkiewicz, 39, at their Grand Haven Township, Mich. home before setting it on fire and then turning the gun on himself, according to police.<\/p>\n

Just two years ago, Mandy Karolkiewicz wrote on Reddit under the username MandyK1179, that she was \u201cliving in a Hallmark Movie\u201d \u2014 but other posts offered a darker glimpse into her married life and husband\u2019s alleged infidelity, the Detroit News reported.<\/p>\n

In one 2024 post seen by the outlet, she described how she first met her older husband while she was working as an intern.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was divorced and older than me \u2026 fast forward ten years and five kids, he was cheating with the intern again \u2014 the same age I was when I was the intern,\u201d Karolkiewicz wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter about a year of self-loathing, I remember crying and looking at myself in the mirror and realizing how \u2026 I was the one who was living so miserably because of what he did,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI finally realized that I had been the only person who has ever showed up for myself my whole entire life.\u201d<\/p>\n

If it wasn\u2019t for the six children they shared \u2014 two of whom are adopted \u2014 she would have left him, she wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kept telling myself, \u2018I love my kids more than I hate my husband right now.\u2019 They have no idea \u2014 I faked it \u2019till we made it. We\u2019re in a much better place 4.5 years out, but it\u2019s still a fight to stay in a healthy place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karolkiewicz frequented the \u201cAs One After Infidelity\u201d subreddit\u00a0 \u2014 a peer support group for victims of cheating \u2014 and in one of her first posts said she was \u201cterrified\u201d at the prospect of leaving her husband, according to the Detroit News.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have six kids, so the idea of leaving is insanely terrifying,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHe\u2019s always had major red flags that I ignored due to my own trauma and anxious attachment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Karolkiewicz had recently caught her husband being \u201csneaky\u201d which resulted in the two deciding to try marriage counseling, she claimed on the thread.<\/p>\n

She also wrote about one incident in which she pushed her husband after learning about his \u201cemotional\u201d affair, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t feel bad still,\u201d she reportedly commented in 2024 on the page. \u201cHe towers over me and destroyed me mentally. It felt like I was being assaulted and needed to fight back. I think it\u2019s a fight or flight thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple got married in Aug. 2009 after meeting at a beverage company in 2008, according to a parenting-focused blog that Mandy\u00a0Karolkiewicz kept over a decade ago.<\/p>\n

Karolkiewicz and her husband had been together for nearly 17 years when they and their children were found dead in the burning home at around noon on Friday, according to police.<\/p>\n

The family\u2019s pets were also killed, officials said.<\/p>\n

The Ottawa County Sheriff\u2019s Office announced Monday that autopsies determined all the family members died of gunshot wounds, and Kristopher Karolkiewicz had set multiple fires throughout the house before taking his own life.<\/p>\n

The Sheriff\u2019s Office and Ottawa County Medical Examiner did not immediately respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

The couple welcomed their first child on April 25, 2011, which Mandy Karolkiewicz hailed as \u201cthe best day of my life (so far).\u201d<\/p>\n

Two more sons followed over the next four years, and the couple later adopted two daughters and had another biological son.<\/p>\n

Kristopher Karolkiewicz worked as vice president of sales and marketing at the American Heart Association before his employment ended earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Mandy Karolkiewicz was a substitute teacher in the Grand Haven Area Public Schools system after previously working in banking and insurance.<\/p>\n
