Former Rangers star Ron Duguay was hospitalized after being found unconscious at his home last Friday, according to his daughter, Shay Thomas.<\/p>\n

Doctors said Duguay had been \u201cextremely dehydrated,\u201d and also \u201cdiscovered varices, portal hypertensive gastropathy, internal bleeding, and an ulcer,\u201d per his daughter\u2019s Instagram post.<\/p>\n

The 69-year-old diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur dad @ronduguay10 continues to show us just how strong he is,\u201d Thomas wrote Monday on Instagram. \u201cOn Friday, he fainted at home, was unconscious, injured a few parts of his face, and knocked out a few teeth in the fall\u2026this time, it wasn\u2019t from hockey. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause of the cancer in his liver, along with everything his liver has endured from surgery, chemotherapy, and the pump, pressure has built up inside the liver. That pressure can back up into the stomach and cause bleeding. The ulcer still needs further evaluation, but the bleeding and liver pressure are the major concerns right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duguay seems to be taking an upbeat approach after the harrowing incident.<\/p>\n

He posted a split-photo to his Instagram Story on Monday night that showed him minus a few teeth and said chompers on the floor at his house.<\/p>\n

\u201cFound my teeth on the bedroom floor,\u201d he caption the Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

Thomas\u2019 posts included a captioned video showing Duguay being loaded into an ambulance, and later transported through the hospital on a gurney.<\/p>\n

The ex-Ranger was conscious while being attended to and moved throughout the hospital.<\/p>\n

His daughter said he had been struggling to eat before fainting due to how he had been feeling.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is still admitted to the hospital and receiving blood transfusions while the doctors continue to monitor him closely,\u201d Thomas wrote in the post.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough it all, our dad remains strong, positive, and trusting God every step of the way. We will continue to keep everyone updated. Please keep him covered in prayer.\u201d<\/p>\n

This scare comes nearly five months after Duguay told Page Six he had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer that originated in the colon more than a year ago.<\/p>\n

He lost his appendix and gallbladder.<\/p>\n

Duguay\u2019s family started a GoFundMe that raised more than $160,000, as of Tuesday morning, to help cover medical costs.<\/p>\n

He said at the time it was going to use an \u201calternative (approach), along with the Western Medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duguay spent eight of his 12 NHL seasons with the Rangers after being selected with the No. 13 pick in the 1977 NHL Draft, and helped the team reach the 1979 Stanley Cup Final.<\/p>\n

He tallied 274 career goals and 346 assists in 864 career games, and made his lone All-Star Game with the Rangers in 1982.<\/p>\n
