Standing\u00a0amid\u00a0the stars of \u201cThunderbolts,\u201d \u201cFantastic Four\u201d and\u00a0some of\u00a0the OG \u201cAvengers\u201d as they posed for a massive group shot during Marvel\u2019s super-sized Hall H panel\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday at Comic-Con,
\u00a0was\u00a0Robert Downey Jr.<\/strong>\u00a0in the middle. It was a visceral reminder that the man who launched the MCU is once again its center of gravity\u00a0\u2014\u00a0<\/em>this time trading Tony Stark\u2019s armor for\u00a0Doctor\u00a0Doom\u2019s mask and cloak.<\/p>\n

After all, he will be the highest paid of the \u201cAvengers\u201d cast. Sources tell Page Six Hollywood that Downey will earn $100 million for the Russo<\/strong> brothers\u2019 two films that kick off on Dec. 18 with \u201cAvengers: Doomsday.\u201d (He\u2019s also starring as Doom in \u201cAvengers: Secret Wars,\u201d out next year.)<\/p>\n

One source says that Downey\u2019s colossal payday covers something more than just the two films, perhaps a cameo in another Marvel offering (Ryan Gosling<\/strong>\u2019s just-announced \u201cGhost Rider,\u201d anyone?).<\/p>\n

After Downey, the next two top earners are the Chrises: Hemsworth<\/strong> (Thor) and Evans<\/strong> (Captain America) who negotiated about $40 million each for the two films. <\/p>\n

Between Downey, Hemsworth and Evans, that\u2019s $180\u00a0million or roughly\u00a030 percent of\u00a0the two films\u2019 budgets.<\/p>\n

We hear that the combined budget of \u201cDoomsday\u201d and \u201cSecret Wars\u201d is $600 million. (The films are being shot concurrently.) <\/p>\n

While that\u2019s a mighty large sum, it\u2019s actually less than the cost of the last two \u201cAvengers\u201d films, \u201cInfinity War\u201d and \u201cEndgame.\u201d Those two films also had Scarlett Johansson<\/strong> and the late Chadwick Boseman making major salaries, behind only Downey. <\/p>\n

Disney and Marvel declined to comment. Reps for Downey Jr., Hemsworth and Evans didn\u2019t comment.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Downey has been the highest-paid member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by a long shot and earned more than $500 million over the course of four \u201cAvengers\u201d movies, three \u201cIron Man\u201d outings, a co-starring role in \u201cCaptain America: Civil War,\u201d and additional cameos in \u201cThe Incredible Hulk,\u201d and \u201cSpider-Man: Homecoming.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The others who are rounding out the mega-wattage cast \u2014 including Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Tenoch Huerta Mejia<\/strong> and Hayley Atwell <\/strong>\u2014 won\u2019t be making peanuts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But none of those cast members are in the Hemsworth\/Evans league, never mind the Downey stratosphere.<\/p>\n
