{"id":5475,"date":"2026-07-27T09:37:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:37:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=5475"},"modified":"2026-07-27T09:37:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-27T09:37:36","slug":"tiktokker-voiced-concerns-about-seattle-center-food-festival-security-day-before-mass-shooting-that-left-3-dead","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=5475","title":{"rendered":"TikTokker voiced concerns about Seattle Center food festival security day before mass shooting that left 3 dead"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A Washington-based content creator appeared to be surprised by the apparent lack of security at the \u201cBite of Seattle\u201d food festival \u2013 just one day before at least three people died in a mass shooting at the event.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=5473\">Local mom who gifted retired NYPD cop\u2019s innocent son the bike he rode before he was fatally shot rages at Mamdani<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The TikTokker, known only as Leebo, claimed in a video that there was \u201cno pat down\u201d or bag checks before walking into the festival grounds Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s not any security walking around,\u201d the influencer said as he made his way over to the food stalls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou should not be able to just walk up into this festival \u2013 with all these people, with all these vendors with no security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After news of Sunday\u2019s shooting emerged, the TikTokker said in another video there were \u201cno metal detectors\u201d or security officers walking with dogs as he blasted festival organizers.<\/p>\n<p>The Post has approached Bite of Seattle for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Around 350,000 people attend the three-day festival, which has taken place in the Washington city since 1982.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It has been hosted at the Seattle Center since 1986 and has twice been voted the best food festival in the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shots rang out at around 6 p.m. Sunday \u2013 hours before the festival wrapped up.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Three people are confirmed to have died, while four were injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, while another died after being rushed to a local hospital.<\/p>\n<p>A two-year-old boy was among those who were injured, officials revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A man, 23, and two adult women were also hospitalized. One of the victims has since died.<\/p>\n<p>Gunshot injuries included the arm, abdomen, and leg.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard boom, boom, boom, boom, boom,\u201d one witness working at the festival told KOMO.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The witness said he helped lift children over a fence to safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI heard a couple pops, but I didn\u2019t think it was anything big until I saw families, kids, everyone just running out of the fair,\u201d another said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=5471\">Michigan Dems have a chance to slap down the soaring far left and save their party<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomeone said \u2018active shooter,\u2019 and I ran. I jumped the fence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Video shared on X shows scores of people sheltering inside the Space Needle\u2019s gift shop.<\/p>\n<p>Estan Wakonabo, 25 told the Seattle Times that crowds of people began trampling over each other while fleeing the gunfire.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was just pure chaos,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople were hiding, were pushing, people were falling on the ground, baby strollers were falling,\u201d he told the Associated Press.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Roberto Ramirez, a vendor at the event, said he heard what sounded like firecrackers before people began yelling \u201cshooter\u201d and frantically running.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuddenly everything was empty,\u201d he said. \u201cPeople were freaked out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A live YouTube video filmed by a food vendor at the event, Hawaiian Honey Cones, captured the moment loud pops of bullets rang out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShooting, shooting!\u201d someone yelled as one blast sounded off, causing vendor Christopher Monterroso to hurriedly turn his head toward the feeling crowd while still holding a honey cone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShooting, oh sh-t. Oh sh-t right here,\u201d Monterroso said as he screamed at staff to get down.<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>One person has since been taken into custody \u2013 and another remains at large.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone Davis, the Seattle police assistant chief, said the suspect at large is a \u201cyoung person\u201d but wouldn\u2019t say if they were a child or adult.<\/p>\n<p>He has put out an urgent appeal for witnesses, telling reporters, \u201cThey\u2019re not coming forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The US has seen 271 mass shootings this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
