The Democratic Socialists of America are plotting a radical takeover of NYC public schools, with comrades admitting they want to mold a new generation of baby Bolsheviks, The Post has learned.<\/p>\n

Maureen Fadem \u2014 yet another nutty professor working for a CUNY school \u2014 called for kids to be educated in a \u201cdemocratic socialist frame\u201d and to be taught the Godfathers of Communism Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, despite their writing inspiring some of the most murderous dictators in history, from Stalin to Mao.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to overhaul the curriculum in a class consciousness frame. . . . The curriculum as a whole needs to be relooked at, revisioned and reframed,\u201d the CUNY Kingsborough Community College professor said.<\/p>\n

In addition to students being schooled in \u201cclass consciousness\u201d \u2014 the radical Marxist idea that business owners are at war with their workers and all private property should be revoked \u2014 Fadem also said that teachers must be educated in \u201crace consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to be teaching teachers about institutional racism in the training of pedagogy,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

The socialist is among a\u00a0rogues\u2019 gallery of controversial CUNY professors\u00a0\u2014 some with criminal charges \u2014 employed by the taxpayer-funded university system. Fadem has argued for slavery reparations and says school curricula has been shaped by a conservative perspective.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe curriculum was built not under a democratic socialist frame, it was built under a neoliberal and conservative frame,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

The meeting, titled \u201cPlanning for Socialist School Governance,\u201d was led by NYC DSA Labor Working Group co-chair Nina Bruckenthal, a math teacher at NEST+m, a public science-oriented K-12 school on the Lower East Side, and Amanda Vender, an ESL teacher at the International High School of Sciences in Elmhurst, Queens.<\/p>\n

Another teacher warned that the organization\u2019s revolutionary agenda could cause parents to flee the public school system and opt to enroll their kids in charter schools instead \u2014 and urged the DSA to fight school choice and \u201cstrengthen the UFT.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAll of our reforms are obviously not very popular. And so as long as school choice exists, parents are going to pull away and go to charter schools that are ununionized because they believe in that,\u201d one teacher admitted. <\/p>\n

The DSA educators vowed to use their connections to fellow socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani to get their agenda through, and also conspired to use upcoming contract negotiations to realize their far-left goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cDSA does have a relationship with the mayor and we can leverage that,\u201d Bruckenthal said.<\/p>\n

They also pledged to insert their demands into upcoming contract negotiations between the United Federation of Teachers and NYC. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe webinar made clear that the DSA sees Mayor Mamdani [as a] window of opportunity to advance its agenda,\u201d North American Values Institute Research Director Mika Hacker said.<\/p>\n

Former Community Education Council 2 President Maud Maron said parents should beware the power-hungry radicals.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildless apparatchiks seeking access to other people\u2019s children in order to convert them to their beliefs is the definition of grooming. Hands off the kids,\u201d Maron told The Post.<\/p>\n

The UFT contract for Gotham teachers is set to expire Nov. 28, 2027 and the DSA has progressively been strengthening its grip on the union. <\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe can make real wins through our contract bargaining process. I would argue for this group, something that is strategic and winnable could be won through our bargaining,\u201d Bruckenthal said.<\/p>\n

Many DSA members are part of the UFT\u2019s Movement of Rank-and-File Educators caucus, and the two organizations have joined together to stage anti-Israel protests throughout the city.<\/p>\n

The group articulated a plan to wrest control of the UFT and use its power to influence local politics \u2014 noting many members were in the MORE caucus in an internal memo published in Politico. <\/p>\n
