The disgraced Cornell University student who went viral for declining an interview with an NYC startup because he said he didn\u2019t want to be \u201cworking for a Jew,\u201d claims he\u2019s returning the upstate Ivy league campus in the fall.<\/p>\n

Austin Franco, 19, the rising junior who delivered the message to VrfID\u2019s Jewish co-founders Gabe and Aiden Einhorn via job board site Handshake in June, told conservative nonprofit Accuracy in Media that he hardly got a slap on the wrist from Cornell.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs of now, they said there\u2019s not anything going on on their back end. I think it\u2019s because I didn\u2019t say anything that could be classified as hateful,\u201d Franco unknowingly confided to an \u201cundercover investigator\u201d for the organization, who lured him to a meet-up pretending to be a fellow antisemite.<\/p>\n

He said that the school reached out to him after the controversy, but no action has been taken against him.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Cornell referred The Post to the school\u2019s previous statement, but declined to comment on Franco\u2019s claim that he is returning to campus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis incident has been referred to the Cornell Office of Civil Rights for investigation under university policy,\u201d the Cornell spokeswoman said. <\/p>\n

\u201cCornell condemns antisemitism and all forms of hatred and discrimination in the strongest possible terms. The university is steadfastly committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for every member of our community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cornell\u2019s lackluster response has sparked outrage among Jewish students and leaders.<\/p>\n

Rabbi Marc Schneier, founding senior rabbi of The Hampton Synagogue and president of the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, told The Post this reflects how alarmingly \u201cnormalized\u201d antisemitism has become.<\/p>\n

\u201cCornell is a place of learning, and yet a student can openly declare that he will not work for a Jew, impose his own private boycott and still sit in its classrooms,\u201d Schneier said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI refuse to believe that any other form of bigotry, racial or religious, would be treated with such tolerance.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davian Gekman, a Cornell student graduating in 2027, described Franco as \u201cthe worst of the worst.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFreedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. If the school administration is unable to do anything, then it is the bodies\u2019 responsibility to do so,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In the clip posted Wednesday to X by Accuracy in Media, Franco admitted that his hateful way of declining the interview wasn\u2019t \u201cthe smartest thing to say.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut the reaction was like, overwhelming. Not equal to what I said,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I thought I was being nice. Saying this is why I don\u2019t want to work for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also confirmed that he\u2019s raked in about $25,000 in donations from his twisted supporters. <\/p>\n

Franco, who hails from Virginia, described antisemitism as \u201cvery widespread among the younger generation\u201d as he blamed The Chosen People for his employment struggles.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the problem I\u2019m having. I\u2019m going to Cornell. I\u2019m applying for all these jobs. The only thing I\u2019m getting is unpaid internships working for Jews. Yeah, pretty much only Jews actually,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe company I was working at prior was also run by a Jew. Yeah, that\u2019s why I got fired.\u201d<\/p>\n

Franco used to work at the kosher station at Cornell\u2019s dining hall, according to students familiar with the situation.<\/p>\n

Franco wrote on X that he met with Accuracy in Media because they claimed to be a group that wanted to offer him financial support and post-grad job opportunities.<\/p>\n
