Tom Hardy has reportedly had several clashes with A-list stars on set over the years, including Charlize Theron and Shia LaBeouf.<\/p>\n

In May 2026, the \u201cVenom\u201d actor was fired from the\u00a0Paramount+ series \u201cMobLand\u201d\u00a0after two seasons. The termination was reportedly due to Hardy allegedly enraging another star while on the set of the series.<\/p>\n

Charlize Theron <\/h2>\n

Hardy starred alongside Charlize Theron in the 2015 film \u201cMad Max: Fury Road.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crew members reportedly described the \u201cLegend\u201d actor as being difficult to work with on set. Camera operator Mark Goellnicht even alleged an incident that occurred between Hardy and the \u201cMonster\u201d actress in a book about the production.<\/p>\n

Goellnicht claimed in Kyle Buchanan\u2019s\u00a0\u201cBlood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road\u201d that Hardy arrived three hours late to set one day, which made Theron furious and she allegedly approached the actor about his tardiness.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember vividly the day. The call on set was eight o\u2019clock. Charlize got there right at eight o\u2019clock, sat in the War Rig, knowing that Tom\u2019s never going to be there at eight, even though they made a special request for him to be there on time,\u201d Goellnicht recalled.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was notorious for never being on time in the morning. If the call time was in the morning, forget it \u2014 he didn\u2019t show up,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cGets to nine o\u2019clock, still no Tom. \u2018Charlize, do you want to get out of the War Rig and walk around, or do you want to\u2026\u2019 \u2018No, I\u2019m going to stay here.\u2019 She was really going to make a point. She didn\u2019t go to the bathroom, didn\u2019t do anything. She just sat in the War Rig.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goellnicht claimed Theron sat in the War Rig for three hours when Hardy finally showed up.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe jumps out of the War Rig, and she starts swearing her head off at him, saying, \u2018Fine the f\u2013king c\u2013t a hundred thousand dollars for every minute that he\u2019s held up this crew,\u2019 and \u2018How disrespectful you are!’\u201d Goellnicht recalled. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was right. Full rant. She screams it out. It\u2019s so loud, it\u2019s so windy \u2014 he might\u2019ve heard some of it, but he charged up to her up and went, \u2018What did you say to me?’\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n

Goellnicht claimed Hardy was \u201cquite aggressive\u201d and that Theron \u201creally felt threatened.\u201d The \u201cApex\u201d actress then asked for \u201csomeone as protection\u201d and was assigned a producer to be with her at all times.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt got to a place where it was kind of out of hand, and there was a sense that maybe sending a woman producer down could maybe equalize some of it, because I didn\u2019t feel safe,\u201d Theron said in the book.<\/p>\n

Shia LaBeouf<\/h2>\n

Hardy starred alongside Shia LaBeouf in the 2012 film \u201cLawless.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rumors circulated that the \u201cTransformers\u201d star knocked Hardy out while they were on set of the film.<\/p>\n

LaBeouf disputed the rumors, telling \u201cHot Ones\u201d host Sean Evans that he and Hardy were simply rough-housing and had been wrestling for sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, it\u2019s a bunch of bulls\u2013t,\u201d he said. \u201cWe used to wrestle all the time and he\u2019s\u00a0a big f\u2013king person, especially then. He was getting ready [to play] Bane [in the \u2018The Dark Knight Rises\u2019].\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cHoles\u201d star said Hardy \u201ctold everybody I knocked him out.\u201d <\/p>\n

However, director John Hillcoat appeared to confirm that the two actors fought and had to be restrained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was definitely a fight between them,\u201d Hillcoat told Collider.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt escalated to the point where they had to both be restrained. But I was very pleased to hear it didn\u2019t go that way because I would hate to see the outcome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Patrick Stewart<\/h2>\n

In the 2002 film \u201cStar Trek: Nemesis,\u201d Hardy played Shinzon, a clone of Human Starfleet captain Jean-Luc Picard (portrayed by Patrick Stewart).<\/p>\n

Stewart wrote about his interaction with Hardy in his 2023 memoir, \u201cMaking It So.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t have a single exciting scene to play, and the actor who portrayed the movie\u2019s villain, Shinzon, was an odd, solitary young man from London. His name was Tom Hardy,\u201d Stewart penned.<\/p>\n

\u201cTom wouldn\u2019t engage with any of us on a social level. Never said, \u2018Good morning,\u2019 never said, \u2018Goodnight,\u2019 and spent the hours he wasn\u2019t needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend,\u201d he claimed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Hardy claimed he was \u201cterrified\u201d on that set.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t hide that, the camera will pick it up,\u201d he told Total Film in 2014. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was genuinely out of my depth. The whole thing was, \u2018How can I do this?\u2019 I took it very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Helen Mirren<\/h2>\n

In May 2026, it was reported that Hardy had been fired from the\u00a0Paramount+ series \u201cMobLand\u201d\u00a0after two seasons.<\/p>\n

Sources told Variety that the \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d alum was let go from the show following \u201con-set issues\u201d with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios and others.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0Puck News report claimed\u00a0Hardy was consistently late to production during Season 2, gave frequent script notes, changed dialogue and was upset about the ensemble cast, which included fellow A-listers Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.<\/p>\n

A source told the Daily Mail that Hardy allegedly enraged Mirren with how he behaved on set.<\/p>\n

\u201cTom\u2019s character is charming. He\u2019s the calm one but it is quite the opposite when the cameras stop. Dame Helen is a joy, she is a total pro and she has worked\u00a0with so many people over the years,\u201d an insider alleged.<\/p>\n

At one point, the source claimed the \u201cQueen\u201d actress found Hardy playing games on his phone when he was supposed to be somewhere else.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe is getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude,\u201d the source alleged to the Daily Mail. \u201cHe can be late to filming too and that is annoying for Dame Helen, who is extremely professional and disciplined.\u00a0His tone is something Dame Helen doesn\u2019t like, along with his lateness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The insider claimed that Hardy\u00a0\u201cswaggers around like a king\u201d while on set and is \u201cvery, very arrogant.\u201d<\/p>\n
