Prospective jurors in Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy\u2019s triple-murder trial were required to answer a lengthy list of personal questions about mental illness and who they know.\u00a0<\/p>\n

More than 300 potential jurors were questioned and excused from the case \u2013 including many who left in tears from having to contemplate the strangling deaths of Clancy\u2019s three young children \u2013 before the 18-person pool was locked in Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

All of the candidates were required to answer a comprehensive set of questions, including whether they had been diagnosed with postpartum depression, an anxiety or bipolar disorder or whether any of their family members had, according to the Boston Globe.<\/p>\n

They were also asked whether they or a family member had any experience with the mental health system that would prevent them from being impartial, and if they could remain open-minded about the defense\u2019s insanity argument, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

The intimate questions didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

Potential jurors had to answer questions about whether they could weigh the harrowing details of the case fairly \u2013 even while reviewing autopsy photos of the slain children, according to the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

They were also required to disclose whether they have had any relationship to witnesses who are expected to testify, WCVB reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The jury contenders were not automatically excused if they answered yes to some of the questions, according to Clancy\u2019s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington \u2013 instead, the goal was for both sides to learn how they thought about issues that are fundamental to the case.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re just trying to get fair people,\u201d Reddington reportedly said after court ended on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
