The future of the Red Kingdom has been revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Chiefs on Wednesday unveiled the renderings for their new stadium in Kansas that is scheduled to open for the 2031 NFL season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The venue, designed by MANICA, will include a fully enclosed dome with a ceiling of translucent ethylene tetrafluoroethylene panels. The building, according to the team\u2019s announcement, will pay homage to Arrowhead Stadium with a similar seating bowl.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cToday we are excited to show Chiefs Kingdom a first look at our new home,\u201d Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said in a statement. \u201cFrom the beginning, our goal has been to build something that improved the gameday experience for every single fan. This new stadium will do just that.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s spectacular. It honors the rich legacy of this franchise while setting a bold course for the future of Chiefs Kingdom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hunt added that the new stadium will hold 70,000 fans and will be built with the idea of amplifying the crowd noise.\u00a0<\/p>\n

While lawmakers in Kansas approved the use of s\u200b\u200bales tax and revenue [STAR] bonds to be issued in order to foot up to 70 percent of the cost for the Chiefs\u2019 new stadium to draw the NFL franchise across state lines into Kansas from Missouri, a final decision on the location for the venue has not been made.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly previously said the building would be in Wyandotte County, and the Chiefs have said they would be keen on the stadium being built in Kansas City, Kansas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new stadium is being built at a cost of $3 billion and will include more than 20,000 parking spots.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The design of the stadium did catch some attention north of the border when it was noticed that it had a certain familiarity to the Saddledome, the home of the NHL\u2019s Flames.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even the arena\u2019s official X account got in on the fun in a post on Wednesday night.\u00a0<\/p>\n
