A French modelling scout accused of procuring women for Jeffrey Epstein has been found dead in his home, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Daniel Siad \u2013 who was named more than 2,000 times in the Department of Justice\u2019s Epstein files \u2013 was found dead in his home in Colombes, west of Paris, on Monday, prosecutors said, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).\u00a0<\/p>\n

His cause of death currently remains unclear pending an autopsy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Siad was being investigated in France over accusations he helped Epstein traffic and abuse women.\u00a0He had long denied wrongdoing, saying he had no idea the convicted pedophile \u201cwas dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

Siad and Epstein communicated for around 10 years \u2013 with their last correspondence soon before the financier\u2019s 2019 suicide in a Manhattan lockup.<\/p>\n

Siad bragged about the women he had found in emails included in the Epstein files.<\/p>\n

\u201cHello Jeffrey, I just found an amizinng [sic] one. She is 20 years old but she looks younger, from Latvia,\u201d he wrote in one sent in June 2009, one year after Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida to soliciting prostitution.<\/p>\n

In one July 2014 email, Siad appeared to compare recruiting women to fishing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this busyness [sic] I feel like fisherman, some time I cache quick, some time no fish,\u201d he reportedly wrote to Epstein.<\/p>\n

In that particular exchange, Siad expressed frustration that Epstein had canceled a meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will reimburse you of course for any expenses,\u201d Epstein replied back. \u201cI value your friendship and hope this did not cause you too much trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Siad always denied wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. <\/p>\n

In February, he told French TV Epstein had \u201cused [his] trust\u201d and claimed he was not \u201cin a position to know that this man was dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have nothing to blame myself for,\u201d he said in a video shared online.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Siad tried to frame himself as someone who was \u201cfrom Kabylia [a region of Algeria], born French and a Swedish citizen.\u201d<\/p>\n

But he was accused by two women of grooming them for Epstein. <\/p>\n

In February, ex-Swedish model Ebba Karlsson accused Siad of raping her when she was 20, and grooming her for Gerald Marie, the former chief of the Elite modeling agency. Siad and Marie denied the allegations.<\/p>\n

In May, one model, known only as Juliette, said she was groomed by Siad in 2004 when she was 21 years old.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She claimed he asked if she was a model and had aspirations of moving to the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he was trying to gauge whether I would accept without asking too many questions. Which I did \u2013 I let things stay vague so I wouldn\u2019t come across as difficult,\u201d she told AFP.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Juliette said she was sent a plane ticket to New York and headed to Madison Avenue when she touched down.<\/p>\n

She met Epstein and claimed he asked for her passport, which she likened to \u201chostage taking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Epstein reportedly told her he couldn\u2019t see her \u2013 but gave her $120 and said she could use his limo to go shopping.<\/p>\n

The day after her shopping spree, she went to the Madison Avenue building, hoping for an interview, but claimed she was given a tour \u2013 walking through areas with \u201cphotos zooming in on women\u2019s intimate body parts.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy internal alarm went off,\u201d she said after being led to a bedroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt the need to say, \u2018I\u2019m warning you, I\u2019m not going to do anything.’\u201d<\/p>\n

She claimed Epstein groped her \u2013 before he offered her a job as a so-called party \u201cescort.\u201d She demanded her passport and escaped New York.<\/p>\n

Stan Pottinger, an Epstein victims lawyer, said in 2016 he had spoken to Siad, \u201cwhom Jean Luc Brunel [a model scout and longtime Epstein associate found dead in 2022] describes as a \u2018scout\u2019 or recruiter of girls and\/or women for J. Epstein.\u201d<\/p>\n
