Post Malone kicked off the FIFA World Cup 2026 closing ceremony with an electric performance of his 2018 track \u201cSunflower\u201d with Swae Lee at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The hitmaker surprised fans by bringing Lee onstage to perform their Grammy-nominated track for his final song.<\/p>\n

Post Malone, 31, rocked a classic Canadian tuxedo with a cheeky white T-shirt that read, \u201cJust hope both teams have fun.\u201d He accessorized with a cowboy hat.<\/p>\n

As for Lee, 33, he wore a yellow jacket, resembling a sunflower, and brown pants for the show-stopping performance.<\/p>\n

Malone, meanwhile, opened with his new track, \u201cChrome Heartbreaker,\u201d before leading into his 2018 song \u201cWow\u201d for his three-song performance.<\/p>\n

On Monday, the country singer was announced as the headliner for the\u00a0closing ceremony, which took place before kick-off.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt a time when sport, culture and global attention converge, Post Malone will deliver a performance designed to celebrate the tournament\u2019s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world\u2019s attention turns to the two finalists,\u201d FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to have so many stars taking to the pitch, from both the football and entertainment worlds,\u201d Infantino added. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe closing ceremony will set the tone for a historic FIFA World Cup final, uniting the passion of 48 teams, 16 host cities and millions of fans on one unforgettable stage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Malone, born Austin Post, is a nine-time diamond-certified superstar. In 2024, the \u201cWhite Iverson\u201d rapper, 31, released his debut country album, \u201cF-1 Trillion,\u201d which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.<\/p>\n

He is gearing up to release his seventh studio album, \u201cThe Eternal Buzz,\u201d which will be a double album that features 20 tracks on each disc.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0World Cup Final\u00a0will also feature a star-studded halftime show with\u00a0Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira,\u00a0BTS and\u00a0Coldplay all set to perform.<\/p>\n
