Soho was a no-go on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The bustling streets of Soho turned into an underwater nightmare Saturday as heavy rain battered the Big Apple causing severe flooding across the city.<\/p>\n

Shocking video obtained by The Post shows the usually busy intersection of West Broadway and Grand Street in Soho inundated with heavy flood waters.<\/p>\n

Several cars, including ambitious taxi drivers, can be seen cautiously driving through the flooded streets trying to make their way out of the underwater mess \u2014 while pedestrians were trapped with some using garbage bags as protection against the rising water.<\/p>\n

Taylor Prokes, 35, lives above Felix Bar & Restaurant and posted the now-viral video of Soho\u2019s flooded intersection of West Broadway and Grand Street captured by her roommate from their apartment building.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never seen anything like it. It was madness,\u201d Prokes told The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople started walking out of the pancake shop with garbage bags over their legs because the pancake shop started flooding.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tringa H, who works as the manager at Felix Bar & Restaurant agreed with Prokes and said that she has never seen flooding this bad in the Big Apple before.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever, ever in my life\u2026I mean, besides Hurricane Sandy, have I seen a flood like this before in Soho, ever,\u201d Trigna said, noting that she had lived in New York her entire life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the chaos, Tringa said the temporary flooding \u201cwas kind of fun,\u201d adding that \u201cnothing stops people from coming to Felix, nothing at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were pulling their pans up, pulling their skirts up, and walking in filthy water to come in. It was amazing,\u201d the 32-year-old said of Felix\u2019s loyal customer base.<\/p>\n

Sally Louhibi, 45, came to Felix early to watch the France and England World Cup game when the shopping district started to go underwater.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel like that the world was exploding because France should be in the final tomorrow,\u201d Sally quipped, referring to the floodwaters that rose prior to the game\u2019s 5 p.m. kick off.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe whole street emptied out and the cars couldn\u2019t really move and people across the road were trying to walk out in garbage bags, which is really quite embarrassing,\u201d she told The Post. <\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on in New York,\u201d she said. \u201cWe had that terrible snow storm and then this!\u201d<\/p>\n

Her husband, Chierif Louhibi, 51, who has lived in the neighborhood for over a decade was also schoked by the swollen streets, adding that he had \u201cnever seen anything like this.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to witnesses nearby, flood waters started to rise in the ritzy shopping and dining district around 12:15 p.m. Saturday and had stopped by 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

By 2:30 p.m. the water had completely drained.<\/p>\n

Flash flooding warnings were issued across all five boroughs Saturday as heavy downpour forced ground stops at the city\u2019s busiest airports and shut down major expressways.<\/p>\n

The heaviest rain fell across lower Manhattan and western Brooklyn and Queens, according to the city\u2019s Office of Emergency Management.<\/p>\n
