US Central Command completed its seventh consecutive night of airstrikes against Iran Friday, hitting Iranian \u201cmilitary logistics infrastructure\u201d among other targets.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cUS Central Command (CENTCOM) hit surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities,\u201d read a statement released by the combatant command. \u201cUS forces employed fighter aircraft, aerial drones, and warships in addition to other assets.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCENTCOM continues to hold Iran accountable at the Commander in Chief\u2019s direction while fully enforcing a naval blockade against Iranian ports.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Video footage released by CENTCOM showed several cruise missiles being launched from a Navy warship, fighter jets taking off into the night sky and at least three targets being hit by precision munitions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One target appeared to be a communications tower. A second target appeared to be a highway road bridge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The strikes concluded at 9:30 p.m. ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 50,000 American service members are operating across the Middle East and remain vigilant, lethal, and ready,\u201d CENTCOM added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Iranian state media reported explosions in parts of central and southern Iran, including\u00a0 Ahvaz, Lar, Yazd and Sirik.<\/p>\n

Iran responded to the US assault by firing missiles and launching drones at several countries in the region.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kuwait\u2019s army reported intercepting Iranian missiles and drones. Jordan\u2019s military also said it intercepted incoming missiles launched by Iran. Air raid sirens were sounded in Bahrain as well, according to the government.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Friday\u2019s airstrikes come after American forces carried out two waves of assaults on Thursday, as the US military sought to cut off the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas to ease Tehran\u2019s grip on the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s strikes dramatically toppled a large, white surveillance tower in Iran\u2019s southernmost city of Chabahar, located on a key trade route for landlocked, neighboring Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

Having assessed that the cease-fire struck with Iran a month ago is effectively dead, President Trump warned earlier this week that the US military plans to \u201cknock out\u201d power plants and other infrastructure targets in Iran unless the regime makes a deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to hit them very hard tonight. We\u2019re going to hit them very hard tomorrow night. We\u2019re going to hit them very hard the night after, and then next week it gets really bad for them because next week comes the power plants,\u201d Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNext week comes the bridges. We\u2019re going to knock out all their power plants. We\u2019re going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump has also reimposed a Naval blockade on Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz as part of the pressure campaign to get Tehran to the negotiating table.\u00a0<\/p>\n
