A Baltimore daughter who inherited her late dad\u2019s home claims she has been threatened with having her water cut off as she took on a $228,000 water bill she says belongs to her entire neighborhood, reports say.<\/p>\n

Kristina Moore was left mystified when she spotted a note plastered on the front door of her childhood home in April warning her that her water could be switched off if the hefty debt wasn\u2019t paid within 45 days, WBFF reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Moore has been footed with the bill as the 37-home neighborhood, which is part of the Springwood Estates Homeowners Association, has just one meter and it\u2019s linked to her address.<\/p>\n

This is despite the fact that homeowners calculate the amount of water they use, and pay their share to the HOA.<\/p>\n

Then HOA officials uses that money to pay off bills issued by the Baltimore City Department of Public Works.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The bewildered resident sought answers from HOA officials and the DPW as she tried to rectify the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually thought initially that it wouldn\u2019t be my responsibility to pay, so I contacted the HOA,\u201d Moore said.<\/p>\n

Moore turned to the DPW and was told she had to foot the bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re telling me my property is responsible for this bill, and I can\u2019t sell it until it\u2019s paid in full, she claimed.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A payment plan has since been created \u2013 but Moore was reportedly told the notice would remain in place until the bill has been covered in full. <\/p>\n

Moore\u2019s residents have also been left baffled by the saga.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt makes no sense,\u201d one told WBFF.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should all have our own bills,\u201d another told the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, Moore said she feels \u201clet down\u201d by how the saga has been handled. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my childhood home. I work in the city, so I feel let down by the city. I think it\u2019s sad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officials at the Baltimore City Department of Public Works said it couldn\u2019t talk about \u201ca specific customer\u2019s water account\u201d unless it had prior authorization.<\/p>\n
