The hate-filled hubby of a Canadian woman who was arrested for allegedly slapping a Trump-supporting teen on the Jersey Shore over the Fourth of July weekend is trying to dismiss it as a \u201cnothingburger\u201d \u2014 while blaming \u201cconservatives online\u201d for landing her in ICE custody.<\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, was taken into custody by ICE after the July 3 confrontation and is now confined at the Delaney Hall immigration detention center in Newark, with the agency saying she overstayed her visa after entering the US with her passport in 2024.<\/p>\n

Her husband, Matthew Geroni \u2014 who has wished death on President Trump and even for his family to all get cancer \u2014 claims they are the victims of his wife\u2019s alleged July 3 attack on a 16-year-old girl with \u201cpatriotic-colored\u201d MAGA sweatpants at the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis whole situation has been blown out of proportion and a person like Kate does not belong in any facility,\u201d the 42-year-old husband, who admitted he was not there at the time, told NJ.com.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife has never been in trouble in her entire life. She\u2019s never had any kind of situation like this. This one little situation that was really a nothingburger when it happened has been blown so out of control by conservatives online that it has caused my wife to be put in a detention center,\u201d Geroni claimed.<\/p>\n

Geroni has a history of deranged anti-Trump, anti-ICE TikTok posts, including one where he \u201cprays\u201d for the president and his entire family to get cancer, including \u201clittle kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Point Pleasant Beach police, Tracey filmed herself approaching the teenager, who was wearing \u201cpatriotic colored\u201d sweatpants, and wound up slapping the victim across her face and body before fleeing the scene, the affidavit reads.<\/p>\n

However, Geroni claims his wife was the one who was shoved and hit, and insists she was not the one recording and never fled from the police.<\/p>\n

He claims he\u2019s seen video that shows the incident is being taken \u201ctotally out of context,\u201d and \u201cshows her as the aggressor when she was not at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now from that video and from people having connections and knowing people in Point Pleasant Beach, my wife was given charges,\u201d he griped.<\/p>\n

Tracey turned herself in after hearing charges had been filed on July 9.<\/p>\n

She was held at Ocean County Jail until ICE moved her to Delaney Hall after lodging an immigration detainer.<\/p>\n
