Louisiana pastor Tony Spell must stay 50 yards from his neighbor\u2019s home unless he\u2019s checking the mail after a protection order was issued against him \u2013 as shocking bodycam appears to show him using a homophobic slur to describe his alleged assault victim, just two days after he was arrested.<\/p>\n

Spell, 48, is banned from speaking with the neighbor either online and in person, according to the order issued\u00a0 Friday, which has since been reported by The Advocate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMr Spell may walk over and check his mailbox; other than checking his mailbox, he is to be 50 yards away from the protected person\u2019s property,\u201d a note on the order says.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Spell, the pastor of Baton Rouge\u2019s Life Tabernacle Church, will appear in court in September after being charged with second degree battery over last month\u2019s assault that unfolded opposite the church.<\/p>\n

He claimed Scott Sherwin\u2019s son had threatened to rape and kill his wife before delivering 35 blows.<\/p>\n

But two days after the brawl Scott Sherwin reported Spell for allegedly mowing his lawn at 4 a.m., WBRZ reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s doing this to intimidate my victim son,\u201d Sherwin claimed in bodycam video seen by The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you cut your grass at 4 in the morning?\u201d he asked the responding officer.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou gotta get him to stop man,\u201d the furious dad said.<\/p>\n

Sherwin claimed his family was unable to sleep \u2013 alleging Spell was carrying out \u201cpsychological warfare.\u201d<\/p>\n

An enraged Sherwin then swore at his neighbor, allegedly flipping him off, according to the bodycam.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was asleep when this started at four in the morning,\u201d Sherwin stressed, aggressively pointing at his phone.<\/p>\n

The cop then went over to Spell, who was sitting on his lawnmower, before asking for his name.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody in the world knows my name,\u201d Spell brazenly replied to the cop.<\/p>\n

Spell, who faces up to eight years in prison if convicted, then labeled Sherwin\u2019s son a \u201cf\u2014-t\u201d and seemed to take pride in the now-viral beatdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s just sore because I beat the crap out of his f\u2014-t boy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd he\u2019s next if he comes over here and harasses these boys,\u201d Spell said, speaking while a group of teens gathered nearby.<\/p>\n

Spell then started his lawnmower up and told the boys \u201cget to work,\u201d essentially ordering them to clear off.<\/p>\n

Spell strongly defended his actions after being released from jail over the assault.<\/p>\n

\u201cNumber one, I\u2019m a husband, number two, I\u2019m a father, and number three, I\u2019m a pastor who shepherds his flock,\u201d he said. \u201cI will not allow a man to murder my children when I\u2019m gone,\u201d he told reporters. <\/p>\n

He revealed what Sherwin\u2019s son allegedly said, which prompted the beatdown.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said, \u2018Tony, I\u2019m going to rape your wife, I\u2019m going to rape all your grandchildren, and the next time you go out of town, I\u2019m going to kill them,’\u201d Spell said.<\/p>\n

He addressed the altercation to his congregation and compared it to \u201cdomestic terrorism.\u201d He also cited a Bible passage from Mark 16:18,\u00a0WAFB reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my name, they shall lay hands on the sick. And they shall recover,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo today, I fulfilled the scripture. I laid hands on the sick. I don\u2019t know how much recovery they\u2019re going to have, but I laid hands on the sick.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spell has been in a longstanding feud with Sherwin; the pastor filed a lawsuit during the pandemic in 2020 over surveillance cameras that were installed.<\/p>\n

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Spell was\u00a0ticketed for holding in-person\u00a0church services, defying Louisiana\u2019s social distancing restrictions.<\/p>\n

Spell claimed the cameras were installed to monitor him.<\/p>\n

In April 2020, Spell was accused of attacking a protester outside his church. Police alleged that Spell backed his church bus in the direction of the protester, who was identified as Trey Bennett,\u00a0according to news station WAFB-TV.<\/p>\n
