\u201cJurassic Park\u201d star Sam Neill said he\u2019d be \u201cannoyed\u201d if he died three years before his tragic passing at age 78.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d be annoyed because there are things I still want to do,\u201d he explained on ABC\u2019s\u00a0\u201cAustralian Story\u201d\u00a0in October 2023.<\/p>\n

But Neill \u2014 who was battling cancer at the time \u2014 noted he wasn\u2019t \u201cin any way frightened of dying,\u201d and that death has \u201cnever worried me from the beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not afraid of it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Neill shared the same sentiments in a March 2023 interview with The Guardian.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not afraid to die,\u201d but it would annoy me,\u201d he shared. \u201cBecause I\u2019d really like another decade or two, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cPeaky Blinders\u201d star said he wanted to live long to enjoy his farm home in New Zealand\u2019s Central Otago and to watch his \u201clovely little grandchildren\u201d grow up.<\/p>\n

However, Neill reiterated he \u201ccouldn\u2019t care less\u201d about dying.<\/p>\n

Neill\u2019s family announced Monday he had died \u2014 just two months after he announced he was cancer free following a battle with the rare blood cancer angioimmunoblastic\u00a0T-cell lymphoma.<\/p>\n

\u201cSam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterised his whole life,\u201d his loved ones said on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe loss was sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n

Neill spoke about getting diagnosed with cancer in his 2023 memoir, \u201cDid I Ever Tell You This?.\u201d In his book, he revealed that he first noticed swollen glands\u00a0while doing press for\u00a0\u201cJurassic World Dominion\u201d\u00a0in March 2022.<\/p>\n

The actor underwent chemotherapy, but after that stopped working, he participated in a clinical trial for a type of CAR-T therapy that destroyed his cancer cells. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that\u2019s an extraordinary thing,\u201d Neill shared in an interview with\u00a0Australian network 7News in April.<\/p>\n

Neill also said that he wanted to get back to work, noting with a smile, \u201cIt\u2019s time I did another movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

Neill\u2019s career spanned more than five decades with more than 150 acting credits.<\/p>\n

He was best known for playing the paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg\u2019s blockbuster franchise \u201cJurassic Park,\u201d a role he reprised in \u201cJurassic Park III\u201d in 2001, and \u201cJurassic World: Dominion\u201d in 2022.<\/p>\n

Neill has acting credits for the upcoming 2027 movies \u201cGodzilla X Kong: Supernova\u201d and \u201cThe Last Resort.\u201d<\/p>\n
