Medics were called to Sen. Lindsey Graham\u2019s Washington, DC, home over reports for a report of someone suffering chest pains \u2014 and then reported a man in his 70s suffering a heart attack before his sudden death on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

In audio of an emergency medical response dispatch reviewed by The Post, a call is made around 8:30 p.m. for a person suffering chest pains at Graham\u2019s $890,000 Capitol Hill townhouse.<\/p>\n

Graham\u2019s office said he died on Saturday night \u201cfrom a brief and sudden illness,\u201d but did not specify a cause of death.<\/p>\n

Roughly 25 minutes after the first 911 call, emergency personnel reported that CPR was in progress, and a man at the house was suffering from cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n

Emergency responders worked to stabilize Graham Saturday night, before he was transported to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The initial emergency call was placed by someone in Baltimore who was en route to the senator\u2019s home, reporting that someone inside was suffering from severe chest pains, according to the dispatch audio.<\/p>\n

The dispatcher noted that the caller believed the front door was unlocked; however, first responders on the scene confirmed the door was dead-bolted, creating a brief obstacle for medical personnel attempting to gain entry to the house.<\/p>\n

    The call contains no confirmation of the cause of the senator\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

    A neighbor shared photos of an older man being taken from Graham\u2019s house by wheeled stretcher and loaded into an ambulance around 9:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    Graham was then taken to George Washington University Hospital.<\/p>\n

    Graham\u2019s sudden death age 71 came just a day after the South Carolina Senator had returned from a visit to Ukraine \u2014 his 10th since the start of the war.<\/p>\n

    He was due to appear on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet The Press\u201d on Sunday, and a staffer for the Senator said there were no indications he was unwell.<\/p>\n

    His office said his family \u201cappreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.\u201d<\/p>\n
