Notorious imprisoned NYC sex fiend Peter Braunstein is making a case against state parole reform, warning of a bloodbath if someone like him is ever set free.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I\u2019d do is kill people,\u201d Braunstein told The Post in an unhinged, scribbled letter where he promises to murder Democrats and \u201cmonsters\u201d if he is ever released. <\/p>\n

Braunstein \u2014 a one-time fashion writer who made international headlines in 2005 when he impersonated a firefighter, sexually tortured a former colleague he was obsessed with in her Chelsea apartment, and then evaded a police manhunt across several states for two months \u2014 warned woke Albany reforms will only let more dangerous lunatics like himself out on the streets.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I was let out tomorrow I\u2019d be reincarcerated in short order because all I\u2019d do is kill people,\u201d he wrote in the June 12 letter to a Post reporter. <\/p>\n

\u201cPrison is where I deserve to be,\u201d wrote Braunstein, who is serving 18 years to life in Wende Correctional Facility in upstate Alden.<\/p>\n

The ex-Women\u2019s Wear Daily fashion critic offered a laundry list of targets: \u201cDemocrats (traitors), trannies (monsters), that Piker guy, \u201d he wrote, referring to Hasan Piker, a far-left influencer and streamer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe list is endless.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe U.S. right now is lost, baby, lost,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI\u2019m so glad I\u2019m not out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post wrote to Braunstein, 62, asking what he\u2019d do if he was granted his release under two new parole-reform bills under consideration in Albany.<\/p>\n

The Elder Parole bill would let violent criminals dodge their minimum sentences, regardless of how heinous their crimes, and be granted early parole hearings after they\u2019ve turned 55 and served 15 years of their sentences.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A second measure, the Fair and Timely Parole bill, would require the state Parole Board to release convicts regardless of the severity of their crimes unless they are a \u201ccurrent\u201d danger to the public.<\/p>\n

Braunstein had a parole hearing last year and was denied because he didn\u2019t show up for it, but is set to reappear before the board next year.<\/p>\n

Critics fear lunatics like him might be sprung if the bills become law. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think you\u2019re going to see a lot of murderers released. . . . murderers and sex offenders, and assuredly some criminals who have committed the most heinous crimes in New York. . . . I\u2019m talking about guys like [John Lennon\u2019s murderer] Mark David Chapman and the Son of Sam [serial killer David Berkowitz],\u201d said former Parole Board Commissioner and state Sen. Marc Coppola, who resigned from the board in September.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd the difference between the two bills is some of them will actually be released earlier than their minimum, and that alone, I think, is very very wrong,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s disrespectful to the victim and the victims\u2019 families.\u201d<\/p>\n

Had Braunstein shown up for that missed hearing in 2025 \u2014 and attended a second hearing \u2014 he\u2019d likely walk free as the bills are written, Coppola said.<\/p>\n

But Braunstein insists he doesn\u2019t want to get out.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only way I\u2019m leaving prison is in a body bag,\u201d Braunstein wrote in the three-page missive written in blue ink on yellow legal-pad paper.<\/p>\n

And both he and the public are better off, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis may seem hard to believe and is certainly not the typical inmate position, but when I committed my crimes in 05 I was done with the world and I have consistently maintained that position ever since,\u201d said Braunstein.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrison isn\u2019t just where I deserve to be, it\u2019s where I want to be because it separates me from a world I loathe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The failed playwright has been busy behind bars, revealing he has written a sick book about incest.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote a mini-novel called Infinite Wishes about a teenage girl who has an ambiguous sexual relationship with her father and goes on to acquire special powers,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cSure, I\u2019d love to see it published but that\u2019s unlikely, but it\u2019s still gratifying as a personal accomplishment.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Halloween night 2005, Braunstein set a fire outside the 36-year-old victim\u2019s apartment and pretended to be a firefighter in a ruse to get her to open the door.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once inside, he chloroformed the woman, stripped her to her underwear, and bound and sexually assaulted her for more than 13 hours, videotaping the savage abuse.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was terrified,\u201d the victim, a former writer for W magazine, testified at his 2007 trial.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me I was lucky I was alive,\u201d she testified, remembering waking up bound by her wrists and ankle to her bed \u2014 wearing only her pink underwear and a pair of bronze stilettos he had found in her closet.<\/p>\n

Even then, Braunstein fancied himself a killer. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me he\u2019d already killed a few people,\u201d she said. \u201cHe said he had a list of people who were going to die.\u201d <\/p>\n

Before leaving, he scrawled a mocking note on her mirror: \u201cBye \u2014 Hope things turn around for U soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Braunstein was convicted of kidnapping, sexual abuse, robbery and burglary.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once he completes his sentence, Braunstein has to serve another 23 years in Ohio for kidnapping a male psychiatrist while he was on the lam for two months. <\/p>\n

He was finally captured in Tennessee, stabbing himself in the neck in a failed suicide attempt as cops closed in.<\/p>\n

In his letter to The Post, Braunstein said he still thinks about the victim, whose name was never made public, \u201cfrom time to time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

Still, he continued to show no remorse for his crime and outrageously claimed \u201cI kind of bonded with her while I held her captive, kind of like Stockholm Syndrome in reverse.\u201d<\/p>\n

In another appalling claim, he wrote that the cruel crime was \u201can act of self definition.\u201d<\/p>\n
