But if Iran is shooting at ships, he\u2019s not just gonna sit there and do nothing,\u201d a source close to the White House told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>A former White House official said that \u201cTrump is not coordinating with anyone\u2026 he\u2019s going with his gut.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump threatened to rain down hell on the \u201cscum\u201d and \u201cliars\u201d in Iran Wednesday and referred to the regime leaders as \u201cloco\u201d and \u201csick.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>He said the war\u2019s three-month cease-fire and the more recent memorandum of understanding are \u201cover,\u201d and threatened infrastructure attacks, a renewed blockade, and seizing Kharg Island. <\/p>\n<p>Some senior officials were surprised by his fiery rhetoric, but \u201cthey are not frustrated because they agree with his new hard line,\u201d the former White House official said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is all Trump, exactly as he likes it. [It is] almost impossible to tell what his next move is until he makes the decision himself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the latest military action has been dubbed \u201cOperation Bitch Slap\u201d by a cohort of Trump\u2019s advisers.<\/p>\n<p>The name is \u201ccolloquial,\u201d unlike the name \u201cOperation Epic Fury\u201d for the broader war, sources said.<\/p>\n<p>The term is being used in conversations and emails by senior Trump officials, three sources with direct knowledge told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=4093\">Prosecutors reveal trans sex joke engraved in ammo that allegedly killed Charlie Kirk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Other sources noted that it\u2019s not pervasive and said they were unaware of its use.<\/p>\n<p>Several White House and Pentagon officials stressed that it was not an official operational name.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has given himself significant room to maneuver by outlining a menu of options ranging from devastating sustained fighting to resumed negotiations by his team, including Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and first son-in-law Jared Kushner, \u201cif they want.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the second night of renewed hostilities extending into Thursday morning, the US military expanded targets to include a rail bridge near the Turkmenistan border, severing a key transportation corridor to China and Russia, the Iranian Fars News Agency\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>The latest round of fighting began when Iran on Monday and Tuesday attacked three ships using a US-preferred shipping route along the Omani coast, rather than an Iranian route.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe just hit them very hard, and I\u2019d say we hit them 20-1. Every time they hit us, we\u2019re going to hit them 20. We did a little something today. but it was really retribution for last night. They hit actually three boats, not two,\u201d Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he returned from a stopover in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve already won militarily. They have very little left. And they want to make a deal so badly. They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly. I just don\u2019t know if they\u2019re worthy\u2026 I don\u2019t know that they\u2019re going to honor the deal, that\u2019s the problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump said Iran had attacked ships  \u201cbecause they\u2019re sort of crazy, to be honest with you. They\u2019re sort of crazy. They\u2019re a little bit out of control, but they want to make a deal, badly.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Iran has given little public indication of conciliation.
