Accused rapist Graham Platner was ripped apart on social media Wednesday over his whiny, rambling video message announcing the end of his Senate bid in Maine and blaming everyone but himself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Platner\u2019s pathetic 11-minute-long rant \u2014 in which he blamed the \u201ccorporate media,\u201d the \u201cpolitical establishment\u201d and even his support for \u201cMedicare for all\u201d as reasons for the downfall of his scandal-scarred campaign \u2014 was panned as needless and \u201cnarcissistic\u201d by X users tired of the former oyster farmer\u2019s antics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHis campaign literally ended with a whimper,\u201d conservative commentator Ryan James Girdusky said of Platner\u2019s self-pitying monologue.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The failed candidate uploaded the \u201cwoe is me\u201d clip announcing his withdrawal after a woman he previously dated, Jenny Racicot,\u00a0publicly alleged that he drunkenly raped her\u00a0at her Maine home in 2021 despite her repeated pleas to stop. He denied the allegation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis video is more embarrassing than the Nazi tattoo,\u201d Emily Zanotti, a friend of one Platner\u2019s exes accusing him of misconduct, tweeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cGraham Platner announces the real victim in all of this is Graham Platner,\u201d right-wing influencer Western Lensman posted on X. \u201cSaved you 11 minutes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTLDR: Campaign suspended and a whole bunch of bluster,\u201d read a post from the Chicks on the Right X account.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Another social media user joked Platner was \u201ctrying to submit this for documentary short at the Oscars.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cCoincidentally, 11 minutes is how long it would take to get a PBR at the Tune Inn when Platner was working because he\u2019d be jawing someone at the other end of the bar who was doing a slow step away,\u201d Doug Heye said of the former DC bartender\u2019s long-winded video.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The failed candidate\u2019s lack of self-awareness throughout the video, as well as his insistence that his ex-girlfriend was lying about being raped by him, left many stunned and puzzled.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not the establishment\u2019s fault that your ex lover accused you of raping her,\u201d political consultant Micah Erfan noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cNarcissistic sociopath,\u201d conservative radio talk show host Larry O\u2019Connor said in response to Platner\u2019s video.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Hutch, a popular lefty streamer, called Platner a \u201cpiece of s\u2013t manipulator conman\u201d after listening to his exit speech.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe entered the stage lying, and he leaves the stage lying. He\u2019s a really bad guy,\u201d former Republican congressman Joe Walsh tweeted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s delusional enough to think this is a moment to preserve political capital and sermonize as a self-styled leader rather than his final opportunity to accept moral culpability for the crisis he has created with his poor judgment, at the very least. A coward to the very end,\u201d read another social media user\u2019s blistering criticism.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Veteran political columnist Ed Morrissey described the video as \u201cthe most arrogant display I\u2019ve seen in a long while.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe didn\u2019t lead a movement; he answered a casting call. His entire narrative has been a lie. And he has the nerve to cast himself as the victim here,\u201d Morrissey argued.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Platner bemoaning that \u201cwe live in a political system that is not built for normal people\u201d also rankled X users.<\/p>\n
