Lil Wayne left fans outraged after he failed to take the stage at the opening night of his \u201c20 Years of Carter Classics\u201d tour Tuesday in Maine.<\/p>\n

The rapper, 43, was scheduled to headline the first stop of the tour at Bangor\u2019s Maine Savings Amphitheater, but after opener 2 Chainz performed and a DJ kept the crowd entertained, Lil Wayne never appeared.<\/p>\n

His set had been scheduled to begin at 10:45 p.m., but by 11 p.m. the crowd was informed the show was over.<\/p>\n

No explanation was given for why the Grammy winner missed the performance.<\/p>\n

Waterfront Concerts President Alex Gray apologized to the crowd, saying it was the first time something like this had happened in the company\u2019s 251-show history, according to local station WABI.<\/p>\n

Gray said the venue requested a curfew extension from the city and did everything possible to make the concert happen.<\/p>\n

Fans didn\u2019t hold back their disappointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I came here for Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, and it was the most terrible experience,\u201d concertgoer Rita Sack told outlet. She said she drove more than six hours from Nova Scotia to attend the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever mind the money. It\u2019s like, moments in life and that was going to be a moment,\u201d she continued. \u201c[My friend] left her six-month baby for the first time. Like, it\u2019s people\u2019s time. Just don\u2019t waste people\u2019s time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe paid for Lil Wayne. The least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize, you know?\u201d Sack added. \u201cLike, just take the moment and be like, \u2018Hey guys, sorry, not feeling it, feeling a little sick.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Lil Wayne \u2014 who was recently reported to be engaged to a woman in her 20s \u2014 also faced backlash online after posting unrelated content to X on Wednesday morning, with fans filling the comments to criticize him for skipping the concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a POS for wasting(sic) Bangors money!!!!\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was front row at the Maine show! My fianc\u00e9 and I were so excited to see you! It was a gift for her and you ruined the night by not showing up!\u201d another responded.<\/p>\n

Later Wednesday night, Lil Wayne apologized to fans on Instagram\u00a0and announced that\u00a0the concert had been rescheduled for July 28.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Maine fans, I\u2019m so sorry,\u201d he wrote. \u201cPlease hold on to your tickets, they will be honored for the rescheduled date. More information will be emailed directly to ticket holders.<\/p>\n

\u201cI ain\u2019t s\u2014 without you. I can\u2019t wait to come back and give you the show you deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rapper is currently scheduled to perform Thursday at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY, before heading to BankNH Pavilion in Guilford, NH, on Friday.<\/p>\n

The \u201c20 Years of Carter Classics\u201d tour is an extension of Lil Wayne\u2019s 2025 \u201cTha Carter VI Tour\u201d and is scheduled to run through October with additional stops in Chicago, Long Beach, Calif., Denver and Fort Worth, Texas.<\/p>\n
