MIAMI \u2014 The grieving dad of a hiker who was mauled to death by an alligator in a river in Florida has slammed wildlife authorities for not doing more to control the beasts and warn of the dangers.<\/p>\n

Construction worker Brittany Clark, 31, was killed during a trip with her boyfriend, Chance Allison, and roommate, Jayden Hernandez, on Sunday as they went for a swim in the Econlockhatchee River at Little Big Econ State Forest.<\/p>\n

Officials have said Allison desperately tried to wrench Clark from the 13-foot reptile\u2019s jaws as it ripped her arms apart.<\/p>\n

Brittany\u2019s father, Robert Clark, told The Post that the family was already dealing with the death of his mother, Barbara, in California, on Thursday last week, when the vicious reptile attack took his daughter too.<\/p>\n

He said that Clark and Allison had been planning to start a family together, and she was excited to have found \u201cthe one that\u2019s gonna take care of me forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert Clark, 57, a semi-retired motorcycle technician who previously served in the Navy, called for wildlife authorities in Florida to do more to control alligator populations and alert people to the danger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are huge 12-foot and 13-foot alligators there, and they\u2019re letting them out of control,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe alligator, I understand, might have been on the verge of extinction at one time, but it\u2019s thriving right now, and the state isn\u2019t taking care of it. That\u2019s the only complaint.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it\u2019s an alligator state and we\u2019ve always had to deal with alligators, but when is the state going to put some money into dealing with the wildlife?<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom what I understand on the news, there was a child that got bit in the area a day or two before my daughter got attacked.\u201d<\/p>\n

The deadly attack came just one day after an 8-foot-7 alligator bit a boy on the hand at Nelson\u2019s Fish Camp in Umatilla, Marion County, about 60 miles northwest of where Brittany was attacked.<\/p>\n

The FWC previously said that the alligator was later removed and killed.<\/p>\n

A 19-year-old snorkeler also survived an attack by an 8-foot-3-inch alligator on June 21 in Rainbow River near Dunnellon, Florida. The victim was treated at the hospital and released, and a trapper removed the alligator from the area.<\/p>\n
