In the midst of Mets madness, team owner Steve Cohen told The Post\u2019s Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman on \u201cThe Show\u201d podcast Wednesday that reports of Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor not getting along last season were true but have since been resolved.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrankly, I think that\u2019s a story that was last year\u2019s story,\u201d Cohen said in an exclusive interview. \u201cI am told and believe strongly that these guys are getting along much better.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so, I just don\u2019t see that as an issue anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Post first reported that Soto and Lindor\u2019s relationship was chilly after the Mets 2025 season crumbled in the final weeks during their first season as teammates.<\/p>\n

It was originally denied by former Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, who thought the Mets \u201chad a professional clubhouse\u201d and everyone in the locker room \u201cenjoyed being around each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

He felt the media was just making excuses for why the Mets stopped playing well en route to their 83-79 finish.<\/p>\n

Cohen\u2019s statement, however, provided a new perspective.<\/p>\n

His acknowledgement comes at a tumultuous time for the Mets as players\u2019 futures are being analyzed in what could be a second straight season without playoff baseball.<\/p>\n

The Mets owner said he doesn\u2019t see Lindor nor Soto going anywhere, though.<\/p>\n

Soto, after all, has 13 seasons left on his 15-year, $765 million contract he signed in 2024, and Lindor has six years remaining on his 10-year, $341 million deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t see them going anywhere,\u201d Cohen said.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI\u2019m lucky enough to have two high-quality players like that and with the elimination of whatever issues there were last year, I\u2019m thrilled that they\u2019re on the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Mets may be stuttering to 36-50 record, but their two most valuable players have only played 13 full games together. <\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

This could also be the reason Cohen told The Post that president of baseball operations David Stearns will not be fired despite holding a losing record with a $320 million-plus roster.<\/p>\n

The Mets, however, did make a change at manager, firing Mendoza and appointing Andy Green as interim skipper.<\/p>\n

Green will have both Soto and Lindor at his disposal with the shortstop recently returning after missing two months with a calf strain suffered June 24.<\/p>\n
