Dave Portnoy alleged that Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn planned to break their Barstool contracts with \u201cfake\u201d sexual harassment claims.<\/p>\n

In his newly released memoir, \u201cCancel Me If You Can,\u201d the Barstool Sports founder alleged the women had a change of heart about their pay and contracts after meeting with YouTube star Logan Paul.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no indication that Alex and Sofia were unhappy with their situation, until they met\u00a0Logan Paul,\u201d Portnoy claimed in his book, per the Daily Mail. <\/p>\n

\u201cIn April 2019, Alex and Sofia flew to\u00a0Los Angeles\u00a0to appear on Logan Paul\u2019s podcast, and he planted some rather poisonous seeds in their minds. They got into a discussion about their current contracts and pay, and Logan was unimpressed,\u201d the businessman penned.<\/p>\n

Portnoy, 49, claimed that both Cooper and Franklyn \u2014 who co-hosted the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast, which was owned and distributed by Barstool Sports from 2018 to 2021 \u2014 were beginning to \u201cshow their growing dissatisfaction with being tied\u201d to his company. <\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, they stopped coming into the office. Near the end of 2019 was really when the major trouble started brewing,\u201d Portnoy alleged in his memoir. <\/p>\n

\u201cCall Her Daddy had hired a lawyer and wanted to have a meeting with us. The lawyer brought a list of demands so preposterous that I couldn\u2019t even make it through the meeting,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The media personality claimed the women \u201cwanted a million dollars a year, the right to sell their own ads, ownership over the intellectual property of Call Her Daddy, and 90 percent of their merch sales.\u201d <\/p>\n

Additionally, Portnoy claimed Cooper, 31, and Franklyn, 33, no longer\u00a0wanted to be qualified as employees of Barstool Sports.<\/p>\n

To try to force their contract demands, Portnoy alleged that the women \u201csimply stopped putting out their podcast.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy said he met with the podcast hosts and proposed \u201cthe most generous offer in Barstool history\u201d that would have made both Cooper and Franklyn instant millionaires.<\/p>\n

Later, Portnoy claimed he got a phone call from Cooper asking if she could meet with the Barstool boss again \u2014 without Franklyn.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I love the deal you proposed, and I want to take it. But Sofia is never going to take it,’\u201d Portnoy claimed Cooper told him in his memoir.<\/p>\n

\u201d\u2019Okay,\u2019 I said. \u2018You guys realize I\u2019ll sue you if you take the podcast to another network before your contract is out, right?\u2019 Alex claimed to me that they had a plan to say they were both sexually harassed at Barstool,\u201d he alleged.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was it. That was their game plan to get out of their contractual obligation to Barstool Sports in the event that I did not relinquish their IP to them and wish them well on their merry way as they jumped ship to a rival podcast network.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy wrote in his book that though his company had been attacked \u201cfor making sexist jokes,\u201d they had \u201cnever been accused of inappropriate workplace conduct.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cBut had they decided to go that route, even though it was patently untrue, it would have been a tough fight for us to win in the court of public opinion. Nobody would have believed my side of the story,\u201d he penned.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realize that this is a heavy accusation I just made: how Call Her Daddy was allegedly planning to break their contract with us by lying about sexual harassment at Barstool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Portnoy doubled down on his claims, claiming to the Wall Street Journal that the women \u201chated each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

Page Six has reached out to reps for Paul, Cooper and Franklyn but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n

Franklyn left the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast in 2020,\u00a0claiming that \u201ccontract negotiations fell apart.\u201d <\/p>\n

She went on to create her own podcast titled \u201cSofia with an F.\u201d Franklyn will address her fallout with Cooper in her forthcoming memoir, \u201cDaddy Issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cooper later signed a three-year contract with Spotify for $60 million in 2021 and inked a deal\u00a0estimated at over\u00a0$100 million in 2024.<\/p>\n

In June 2021, Cooper signed a deal worth $60 million to exclusively present the podcast on Spotify while Barstool continued to handle the show\u2019s merchandising.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Three years later, the influencer signed a $125 million deal with Sirius XM to replace Spotify as her distribution and advertising partner.<\/p>\n
