Iran said it struck targets linked to US forces on \u200bSaturday in response to US airstrikes on its southern coast, as each side continued to accuse the other of violating\u00a0last week\u2019s agreement meant to end \u200cthe\u00a0four-month-old war.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s foreign ministry did not identify the locations of its \u201cdefensive\u201d attacks, which it said were a response to \u201cthe barbaric air strikes\u201d by the US on its coastal surveillance facilities, which it said also violated the UN Charter.<\/p>\n

Later, Bahrain, which hosts the US Navy\u2019s Fifth Fleet, condemned what it said was an Iranian drone attack on its territory as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and a threat to its security, adding \u200bthat it reserved the right to defend itself.<\/p>\n

Washington did not immediately respond to Iran\u2019s report of striking American targets, a tactic that has sought to undermine US allies \u200bin the region during the conflict.<\/p>\n

The US military said its strikes on Friday had been a response to an Iranian drone strike on \u2060a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway vital to global energy supplies.<\/p>\n

In one separate development,\u00a0Israel and Lebanon\u00a0signed an agreement to end the \u200bfighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah.<\/p>\n

Both sides said the deal was an initial step that calls for Hezbollah to disarm and Israel to withdraw troops from Lebanon, but it was \u200bnot clear how it would be enforced. Hezbollah said it would not cooperate.<\/p>\n

Iranian state television said the country\u2019s Revolutionary Guards had delivered \u201ca decisive response\u201d after US forces hit a communications tower in the port city of Sirik. <\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s Mehr news agency said the port was operating normally with no damage reported to facilities or equipment.<\/p>\n

Bahrain said Iran\u2019s continued attacks, despite regional and international de-escalation efforts, were undermining peace and regional stability. \u200b<\/p>\n

It also accused Tehran of breaching UN Security Council Resolution 2817 and the June 17 Islamabad memorandum of understanding.<\/p>\n
