The four children found dead alongside their mother and grandmother in an upstate New York home appeared \u201chappy\u201d during their final conversation with their heartbroken father, he revealed Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brady Harmon recalled the last time he spoke with his kids during a roughly 15-minute Facetime call on June 7.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey seemed like happy little kids,\u201d he told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mechanicville police discovered the corpses of Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon, both 10, inside an apartment Tuesday, where investigators believe their grandmother fatally poisoned them and their mother, Sarah Myers, 44.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHarper and Grace would show me their drawings, Hudson would show me their cat and Gavin would show me something he built,\u201d the grieving dad said.<\/p>\n

Harmon, 46, hadn\u2019t seen his kids since 2019, but had recently been granted two months of custody \u2013 which was set to begin July 1.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI was supposed to be flying out on the 30th, gathering my kids and flying them home, then having them there for 60 days,\u201d explained Harmon, who lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.<\/p>\n

As he was preparing for their arrival, local cops knocked on his door late Tuesday to break the unthinkable news.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey say time heals all wounds, but this is a gaping hole that will never heal \u2026 it will never go away,\u201d he mumbled, his voice cracking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The plan is to bury his children in Utah \u2013 far away from their mother, Harmon told The Post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t believe anyone who can\u2019t protect them should be anywhere close to them. If she had anything to do with it, that\u2019s just another reason why,\u201d he said of his ex-wife \u2013 adding that the arrangements are part of his \u201cresponsibility and duty as a parent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Old heart-wrenching photos shared by Harmon on Facebook show the smiling children clad in butterfly and dinosaur costumes for Halloween, playing on a swing-set and cuddling with their father during a nap on the couch.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The children\u2019s maternal grandmother, Amy Steadman \u2013 whom police believe may have carried out the suspected mass poisoning \u2013 had lived with the family at one point during Harmon and Myers\u2019 decade-long relationship, he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was never really a cordial, warm person to be around \u2026 it was very arm\u2019s distance, I guess,\u201d Harmon said of his former mother-in-law.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Still, she appeared to have a close bond with the children.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just a doting grandma, you know, she\u2019d spoil the kids \u2013 the grandkids,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A hand-written note discovered inside Steadman\u2019s Harris Avenue home \u2013 where responding officers couldn\u2019t identify the bodies because they were so badly decomposed \u2013 \u201cstrongly suggests\u201d that the grandmother was \u201cinvolved\u201d in the deaths, Mechanicville Police Chief Bill Rabbitt revealed during a press conference Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

One of the children was stabbed, while the rest appear to have been poisoned \u2013 possibly in a fit of rage after Steadman allegedly became resentful over Harmon\u2019s recent custody win, sources told Channel 13.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is recovered evidence from inside the apartment indicating intentional poisoning \u2014 to include numerous prescriptions and over-the-counter medications,\u201d Rabbit said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvidence recovered during the investigation, including a handwritten note, and other circumstantial evidence, strongly suggests that Amy Steadman was involved in the deaths.\u201d<\/p>\n

Syringes were found inside the home and investigators believe the children may have been injected with drugs, sources also told the outlet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Investigators were \u201cawaiting results from the crime lab and other investigative findings before releasing more details\u201d Friday, Rabbitt told The Post, as the probe continues.<\/p>\n
