Austin Metcalf\u2019s coach\u2019s desperate pleas were captured in a recently-released frenzied 911 call that was placed moment safter Karmelo Anthony unleashed his attack.<\/p>\n

Joshua Rebmann told the critically injured star to \u201cfight\u201d in the exhibit made public Friday \u2014 just 10 days after Anthony was convicted of murder over the April 2, 2025, stabbing.<\/p>\n

\u201cStay with me, Austin. C\u2019mon! C\u2019mon\u201d Rebmann, a Liberty High coach and military veteran, begged as the commotion in Frisco, Texas, unfolded.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cFight through, fight through. You\u2019re doing good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rebmann used his jacket to try and save Memorial High student Metcalf, who was bleeding after his heart was pierced by Anthony\u2019s 3.5 inch blade.<\/p>\n

In another recording Metcalf\u2019s pal Mason \u2013 who called 911 \u2013 frantically told dispatchers, \u201cMy friend just got stabbed,\u201d before admitting he had \u201cno clue\u201d who carried out the attack at Kuykendall Stadium during the ill-fated track meet.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was sitting in our tent, but you need to send an ambulance right now,\u201d he urgently said, before describing the knifeman\u2019s attire.<\/p>\n

Metcalf, 17, was left with a stab wound on the left side of his chest \u2013 and Dr. Elizabeth Ventura, the Collin County chief medical examiner, told jurors the injury wasn\u2019t survivable.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The blade perforated the bone at the center of Metcalf\u2019s chest, as well as the sack that surrounds his heart, Ventura said, describing his wound as \u201cgaping.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jurors gasped in horror and one covered her mouth after being shown chilling autopsy pictures, while Anthony \u2014 now 19 \u2014 looked at his lap, according to a report by the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

A paramedic, who also took the stand at the trial in McKinney, said Metcalf was found with no pulse and never regained consciousness.<\/p>\n

Witnesses told the court how Anthony \u2014 who went to Centennial High School \u2014 was the aggressor and said that he came into the Memorial High tent to shelter from the rain.<\/p>\n

He allegedly ignored requests to leave before threatening Metcalf, who outweighed him by 50 to 60 pounds.<\/p>\n

At one point during the escalating dispute,\u00a0Anthony\u00a0warned Metcalf, \u201cTouch me and see what happens,\u201d while his hand was in his backpack, witnesses said.<\/p>\n

Metcalf eventually shoved Anthony, and the killer teen whipped out a knife from his bag, plunging it into the victim\u2019s chest, according to testimony.<\/p>\n

Anthony \u2014 who was sentenced to 35 years in prison \u2014 has claimed he acted in self-defense \u2013 and his parents Kala Hayes and Andrew Anthony have consistently stressed their son isn\u2019t a killer.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy son is no murderer,\u201d she told CBS after the sentencing. \u201cMy son was defending himself, and that\u2019s what hurts so bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hayes claimed the jurors \u201chad their minds made up already.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Andrew Anthony claimed that his son didn\u2019t get justice.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThey did a number on us,\u201d he alleged. \u201cWe didn\u2019t get justice. A lot of things that were missed that should have been handled a certain way; however, we couldn\u2019t say anything. We did what we were instructed. We did what we were told.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anthony and his lawyers have already filed a notice of appeal \u2013 and a group of six lawyers have announced they will represent him pro-bono, which means without charge.<\/p>\n

\u201cImmediately after the conviction, Karmelo Anthony\u2019s father reached out to me and asked for help assembling a new legal team to fight for his son\u2019s future,\u201d Lee Merritt, a civil rights attorney, posted on X Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe remain committed to ensuring that Karmelo receives a full and fair review of his conviction and sentence, consistent with both the evidence and the law.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not about headlines; it is about due process, accountability, and the pursuit of justice for a young man whose life now depends on what happens on appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n
