Mayor Zohran Mamdani offered up a tepid non-response Tuesday about the New York City coffee shop that publicly ripped Rep. Dan Goldman over his pro-Israel views. <\/p>\n

Mamdani, as he was out stumping for far-left congressional candidates, was pressed by a reporter on Poetica Coffee\u2019s screed lumping Goldman in with \u201cracists, fascists, homophobes\u201d and saying it would have refused to serve him over his support for Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have many political disagreements with Congressman Goldman when it comes to his votes and his views on Israel,\u201d Mamdani, a staunch critic of the Jewish state, said when asked if the hateful diatribe was an \u201cOK way for someone to express political disagreements.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we saw online goes beyond that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The crunchy coffee shop sparked controversy when it posted a photo of Goldman at its Park Slope location, revealing that it issued him an unasked-for $9.82 refund and telling him \u201cdon\u2019t ever come to Poetica\u201d \u2014 while claiming that the money he used was \u201cprobably coming from AIPAC anyways.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHey Congressman Dan Goldman, we see that you stopped by our shop today for a coffee. Do you see how it doesn\u2019t taste like genocide juice? Or are you still having a hard time telling the difference?\u201d Poetica wrote on its Facebook page.<\/p>\n

\u201cSee, here at Poetica, we don\u2019t serve racists, fascists, homophobes, genocide enablers, or anyone in between. Too bad we didn\u2019t recognize you right away, or we would have turned you away. We issued you a refund\u2014we don\u2019t need your money (it\u2019s probably coming from AIPAC anyways).<\/p>\n

\u201cEnjoy your loss on Tuesday. Don\u2019t ever come to Poetica.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldman \u2014 who is facing a tough primary challenge from Mamdani-endorsed candidate Brad Lander \u2014 responded to the petty diss by pointing out he bought a coffee out of courtesy for the shop allowing his 7-year-old daughter to use the restroom.<\/p>\n

The Justice Department\u2019s Civil Rights Division has since said it opened an investigation into the incident, and warned an enforcement action could be coming.<\/p>\n

Goldman, who reps New York\u2019s 10th House District covering Lower Manhattan and western Brooklyn, told The Post on Tuesday that it left him in shock.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just so startled and surprised because I had had such a nice interaction with the barista who clearly came from a different background than me but it was almost refreshing and a reminder of what the city is all about,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then to be on the receiving end of that was really startling.\u201d <\/p>\n

The congressman, who was making a campaign stop in Brooklyn on Election Day, added: \u201cI don\u2019t know what impact it will have on the election, if any.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I do think it\u2019s a reflection unfortunately of the sad state of affairs we are in that this degree of anger and vitriol and hate is being normalized by some,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\u201cAnd that it just simply is not not okay. And it\u2019s not just me. It\u2019s not just Jews. Everybody needs to stand up against this kind of hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goldman is fighting to hold his seat against Lander, the ex-city comptroller and failed mayoral candidate, in Tuesday\u2019s Democratic primary.<\/p>\n

The pair have clashed on their views of Israel \u2014 with Lander more willing to criticize Israel\u2019s government.<\/p>\n

Some voters heading to polls weren\u2019t swayed by the hateful incident, instead praising Goldman for how he handled the nasty spat.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I was going to vote for him anyway but that kind of reminded me why,\u201d said a 51-year-old Goldman voter who gave his name as Alex. <\/p>\n
