Ex-JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana wants to withdraw his explosive \u201csex slave\u201d lawsuit against the bank and a female supervisor \u2014 but the bank is now fighting to stop Rana from unceremoniously dropping his claims. <\/p>\n

Rana and his legal team must answer for the claims in the lawsuit, which JPMorgan lawyers called \u201cmaterially false,\u201d according to documents filed last week.<\/p>\n

Defense lawyers also don\u2019t want Rana to be able to walk away from the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit and refile the claims in federal court.<\/p>\n

In a pair of blistering legal salvos, attorneys for JPMorgan and bank bigwig Lorna Hajdini tore into Rana\u2019s frantic attempt to pull the plug on his high-profile state lawsuit, accusing his new high-profile lawyers of \u201cgross negligence\u201d and \u201cgamesmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rana\u2019s \u201cnew counsel has entered this case with an approach similar to that of his prior counsel \u2014 promising the press new evidence to support Plaintiff\u2019s claims while simultaneously seeking to delay this litigation and any accountability for Plaintiff\u2019s lies,\u201d lawyers for Hajdini wrote.<\/p>\n

Attorneys for Hajdini and the banking giant also accuse Rana of \u201cblatant forum shopping\u201d and of trying to avoid complying with a judge\u2019s order to re-file his suit under his real name.<\/p>\n

Rana \u201cis not entitled to a do-over on his claims because he has retained new counsel,\u201d writes Cardelle B. Spangler of Winston Taylor, repping JPMorgan.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf he no longer wishes to litigate in this forum, he is free to walk away, but he should not be permitted to re-file these claims with another court,\u201d the filing continues. <\/p>\n

\u201cSuch overt gamesmanship unfairly prejudices [JPMorgan] and should not be permitted.\u201d<\/p>\n

The legal brawl has gotten so toxic that JPMorgan is now demanding a judge to force Rana\u2019s former lawyer \u2014 who dropped his client hours before the suit\u2019s first hearing \u2014 \u201cto promptly make any disclosures necessary\u201d regarding false evidence or statements, hinting at an aggressive push to uncover alleged fabrications in the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

In the lawsuit \u2014 which became an internet sensation after it was filed in April \u2014 Rana claimed he was drugged and made a sex slave by Hajdini, who also allegedly made racist claims about him and his wife.<\/p>\n

The most infamous line from the suit was Rana\u2019s claim that Hajdini stripped off her top and said, \u201cI bet your little Asian, fish head, wife doesn\u2019t have these cannons.\u201d<\/p>\n

JPMorgan and Hajdini have said from that jump that Rana\u2019s allegations are entirely made up.<\/p>\n

Both defendants argue that Rana should be forced to either stay in state court \u2014 or that the suit be dismissed for good, and that he pay out legal fees. <\/p>\n

Hajdini, who has filed a counterclaim alleging Rana defamed her, said her defamation allegation should be argued out before Rana is allowed to file in any new court.<\/p>\n

Her attorneys claim they asked Rana\u2019s team to provide a draft of their federal complaint twice, but they declined to do so.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rana\u2019s lawyers hit back on Monday, claiming opposing counsel is making demands to the court as if it were a \u201ca genie lamp that provides her heart\u2019s desires regardless of whether they are tethered to fact, law, or reality.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorney Jon Norinsberg claims Hajdini\u2019s filing is rife with \u201chysterics and overwrought descriptions,\u201d and \u201ccontinues to exploit publicly filed court documents to smear\u201d his client.<\/p>\n

Norinsberg dismisses claims of forum shopping, and said Rana plans to comply with Thursday\u2019s deadline of filing the suit under his real name \u2014 but in federal court.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a familiar playbook used by defendants,\u201d Norinsberg wrote, \u201cattack the survivor, distract from the allegations, and portray themselves as the victim.\u201d<\/p>\n
