{"id":2533,"date":"2026-06-20T15:08:19","date_gmt":"2026-06-20T15:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2533"},"modified":"2026-06-20T15:08:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-20T15:08:19","slug":"mom-of-girls-in-viral-bathroom-video-says-dad-handled-situation-well-but-accuses-him-of-exploiting-daughters-for-attention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2533","title":{"rendered":"Mom of girls in viral bathroom video says dad \u2018handled situation well\u2019 \u2013 but accuses him of exploiting daughters for attention"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The mother of the two young girls at the center of the viral women\u2019s restroom confrontation said she\u2019s heartbroken that her daughters have become internet fodder \u2014 and felt their father \u201chandled the situation well,\u201d but accused him of exploiting them for attention.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2531\">Inside FBI \u2018most wanted\u2019 fugitive\u2019s mysterious phone call she made after vanishing abroad<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Zoe Lavely, the mother of the girls featured in Tyler Brodsky\u2019s widely shared TikTok video, broke her silence in a lengthy Facebook post this week, saying she has been devastated by seeing her children\u2019s faces blasted across social media and news outlets around the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI actually don\u2019t love this outcome; as the mother of those two girls,\u201d Lavely wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though their dad handled the situation well, what everyone doesn\u2019t see is the fear a mother has seeing their kids exposed all over the media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The saga erupted after Brodsky posted video of a confrontation inside a women\u2019s restroom during a road-trip stop at an Alabama QuikTrip.<\/p>\n<p>The footage showed Brodsky helping his daughters wash their hands inside the women\u2019s restroom when another man objected and called police.<\/p>\n<p>One of the girls appeared visibly upset and cried as the argument unfolded.<\/p>\n<p>The video quickly exploded online, sparking a heated debate over where fathers should take young daughters when family restrooms are unavailable.<\/p>\n<p>Millions sided with Brodsky.<\/p>\n<p>Mothers flooded social media with messages praising him for protecting his daughters and remaining calm during the confrontation.<\/p>\n<p>The incident drew national attention, and the man who called police was ultimately dropped by a Mississippi real estate company that said his conduct did not reflect its values.<\/p>\n<p>But Lavely said the viral reaction came at a steep personal cost for the children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 20 million people have seen my girls,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot just being kids exposed all over. I see their dad approaching the man that scared my girls just for the video.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavely also alleged that Brodsky has profited from the publicity while failing to financially support the children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see my girls being capitalized for money,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI see people offering money to a man that hasn\u2019t paid 1 penny to those girls just this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post could not independently verify those claims. As for the financial accusations, those are simply not accurate. I\u2019m not going to discuss private family matters publicly because my daughters deserve better than that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavely stressed that she does not object to fathers taking daughters into women\u2019s restrooms when circumstances warrant it and said the controversy highlights the need for more family-friendly facilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a need to be talked about situation,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery girl dad should feel welcome to take their daughter(s) in a safe, clean, private bathroom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFamily shared bathrooms need to be more accessible for these reasons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lavely said she grew up with a single father and understands the challenges dads face in those situations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll never take away from that,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dad was a single father to me and faced the same battles.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her criticism instead focused on the decision to post footage showing the girls\u2019 faces and emotions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d never blast my children on social media,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis NEEDS to be a talked about situation. But it could have been a simple video explaining the situation without my kids faces all over the place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She suggested the same message could have been conveyed through an audio recording rather than video showing the children.<\/p>\n<p>Lavely said seeing the clip repeatedly replayed online has been emotionally draining.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo many people have used this video,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverytime I open my phone I see my 3 year old daughter in tears. It destroys me every single time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The original incident occurred during a drive from Florida to Oklahoma, according to Brodsky, who said he brought his daughters into an empty women\u2019s restroom rather than take them into a men\u2019s restroom occupied by adult men.<\/p>\n<p>In a follow-up video, Brodsky said officers responded quickly and determined he had done nothing wrong.
