{"id":2396,"date":"2026-06-18T21:42:34","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T21:42:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2396"},"modified":"2026-06-18T21:42:34","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T21:42:34","slug":"cops-stop-knicks-tyler-kolek-thinking-hes-a-fan-during-parade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2396","title":{"rendered":"Cops stop Knicks&#8217; Tyler Kolek thinking he&#8217;s a fan during parade"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Knicks guard Tyler Kolek had a run-in with police after they seemingly mistook him for a fan during the team\u2019s championship parade in New York on Thursday.<\/p><p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/metrotransitreview.com\/?p=2394\">Knicks heralded as kings of NYC as millions attend estimated largest ticker-tape parade \u2014 and party \u2014 in city\u2019s history<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 25-year-old Kolek was running along the parade route and greeting fans while holding a Michelob Ultra in one hand when he was stopped by two police officers who grabbed him. <\/p>\n<p>One officer was seen shaking his head, appearing to say \u201cno,\u201d while another turned him around an pointed for him to leave the area. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when others intervened to inform the officers that Kolek was a member of the championship team.<\/p>\n<p>The officers backed down after that.<\/p>\n<p>Kolek, who did not look happy, was seen saying something to them as he ran off.   <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI swear I\u2019m on the team bro,\u201d Kolek wrote on X, responding to post that said, \u201csecurity almost tackled\u201d him. <\/p>\n<p>At one point, Kolek went live on Instagram and showed himself holding the Knicks\u2019 NBA Cup trophy that they won after defeating the Spurs 124-113 in the league\u2019s mid-season tournament in December. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis my real trophy right here.
