This ferry crew could be in hot water.<\/p>\n

Two German tourists were seen in a viral video appearing to steer the Staten Island ferry through New York Harbor, sparking a city investigation and threats of punishment, a report said.<\/p>\n

The two women were first seen chugging what appeared to be White Claws at Whitehall Terminal before being guided past secure areas and up to the restricted bridge of the Dorothy Day \u2014 where one of them apparently moved a joystick at the ship\u2019s helm, according to the clip and a report in SI Live.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m driving the boat! I\u2019m driving the boat! I\u2019m driving the ferry!\u201d the woman at the helm shouted in English while what appeared to be a crew member gave her steering instructions, saying, \u201cto the middle, to the middle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another clip shows one woman lounging in a worker\u2019s chair with the caption, \u201cHe\u2019s not texting me back, but at least I rode the Staten Island Ferry today.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear if the woman was steering the ferry in a meaningful capacity, or if it was staged.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the city Department of Transportation said it would probe the incident \u2014 and punish anyone found responsible. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis behavior is against our policies and completely unacceptable. We will be taking appropriate disciplinary actions against those responsible,\u201d DOT told SI Live.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

DOT did not respond to the Post\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Outraged commuters called the stunt a \u201csevere breach of maritime safety and public trust,\u201d according to the paper.<\/p>\n
