Charles Barkley is pushing his ESPN luck.<\/p>\n

The \u201cRound Mound of Rebound,\u201d a former NBA All-Star and current \u201cInside the NBA\u201d analyst, wants to see what his employer is going to do after his viral Game 3 halftime take that rapper Cardi B should call herself \u201cCardi D\u2019s\u201d \u2014 a reference to her chest \u2014 during the broadcast of Knicks-Spurs at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

\u201cDan, you know I\u2019m hoping they fire me,\u201d Barkley told Dan Patrick on on the longtime host\u2019s titular sports talk show. \u201cI got six or seven years left on my contract that they know I\u2019ve got no chance of doing. I would love for them to fire and have to pay me for the next six or seven years.<\/p>\n

Barkley mentioned that no one from management had talked to him about the clip, but he\u2019s got an answer ready for those who didn\u2019t appreciate his analysis of the situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople can\u2019t take a joke?\u201d he said, \u201cThey can kiss my ass. I appreciate all the support I\u2019ve gotten all these years, but if anybody thinks like them, they\u2019re a fool. So if people don\u2019t like me or don\u2019t have a sense of humor, they can kiss my ass.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cardi B herself didn\u2019t seem to mind.<\/p>\n

When the rapper took center court and performed at halftime on Monday, the entire \u201cInside the NBA\u201d crew seemed engrossed in the performance, with Barkley providing some of the colorful insight that\u2019s earned the show Emmys.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know if those (are) B\u2019s,\u201d Barkley said Monday. \u201cThey might be Cardi D\u2019s\u2026 I\u2019m pretty sure those aren\u2019t B\u2019s\u2026 She\u2019s got the wrong initials.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cardi, who \u201cBodega Baddie\u201d from her upcoming album, retweeted a video of Barkley\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n

Barkley, who retired in 2000 after 16 NBA seasons, has been a staple on \u201cInside the NBA\u201d ever since.<\/p>\n

The 63-year-old is likely not in any danger of being fired toward the end of his first year with the Worldwide Leader. He\u2019s discussed retirement for a decade and hasn\u2019t done so. He also spent much of this NBA season complaining about how ESPN didn\u2019t work him enough.<\/p>\n

Fans can expect to see him on Wednesday\u2019s broadcast \u2014 likely with another take sure to set the internet on fire.<\/p>\n
