Lame-duck Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett suggested she also would have stabbed slain track star Austin Metcalf during an unhinged episode podcast \u2014 as Karmelo Anthony was convicted of first-degree murder in the racially charged case.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s episode of \u201cClock It with Crockett,\u201d the failed Texas Senate candidate let loose a torrent of falsehoods to paint a picture of the brutal slaying of 17-year-old Metcalf that had virtually no basis in reality.<\/p>\n

The cavalcade of inaccuracies started with Crockett downplaying the size of the semi-serrated, five-inch pocket knife Anthony was convicted of plunging into Metcalf\u2019s chest during a dispute at a track meet at Memorial High School in Frisco, Texas last April.<\/p>\n

\u201cWait a minute, it was this?\u201d she said, holding her thumb and forefinger about an inch apart to demonstrate the size of the murder weapon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWas it a switch? I don\u2019t know what he had,\u201d Crockett said, inadvertently telegraphing her flimsy grasp of the facts in the case that has roiled her home state for more than a year.<\/p>\n

One of her guests claimed the knife was \u201ca multi-tool\u201d akin to a Swiss Army Knife.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, like with the little scissors and everything and whatever. So it was small,\u201d Crockett said, furrowing her brow and squinting her eyes in disbelief.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell I would argue the size of it alone you wouldn\u2019t even think it\u2019s a deadly weapon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pictures of the knife have not been released, but it was described as having one-handed opening and a semi-serrated blade with a sharp point.<\/p>\n

Anthony\u2019s knife penetrated Metcalf\u2019s sternum and entered his heart, leaving a \u201cgaping\u201d two-inch stab wound and causing the teenager to bleed out.<\/p>\n

Crockett continued, flagrantly embellishing every single detail of the confrontation that led to the deadly stabbing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf a 300-lb. man is beating me, like on top of me and beating me down, I\u2019m not limited to fists,\u201d she said, seemingly implying she, too would have stabbed the high school athlete.<\/p>\n

Metcalf was 6-feets and 200 lbs., a far cry from her claim about the victim\u2019s stature.<\/p>\n

Anthony was also a high school football standout \u2014 and was listed as 5-foot-11, 162 lbs.<\/p>\n

Her choice of words also falsely portrayed Anthony as the victim and Metcalf as the aggressor. <\/p>\n

In fact, Metcalf was merely attempting to remove an interloper from the track team\u2019s tent at the event, according to witness Eddie Parra, 18.<\/p>\n

Parra testified that when confronted, Anthony immediately got aggressive, daring Metcalf to \u201ctouch me\u201d and warning \u201cyou\u2019re going to have to move me\u201d while putting his hand inside his bag to indicate he had a weapon.<\/p>\n

According to witnesses, Metcalf shoved Anthony, who then pulled out the knife and stabbed him in the chest in what Collin County DA Bill Wirskye called a \u201csneak attack.\u201d<\/p>\n

Contrary to Crockett\u2019s fact-free assertions, there was no \u201cbeating,\u201d Metcalf was never \u201con top\u201d of Anthony and Metcalf weighed nowhere near the formidable 300 pounds the congresswoman alleged.<\/p>\n

X users flooded posts sharing clips of Crockett\u2019s podcast with comments pointing out her misstating of even the simplest facts in the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy does it matter what he used to kill him? A rope isn\u2019t a deadly weapon until it\u2019s used to strangle someone. Like how stupid can you be?\u201d one X user asked incredulously.<\/p>\n

\u201cPretty sure Metcalf is dead, so it sounds like a deadly weapon to me,\u201d another poster chimed in.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo she has twisted this story into something that did not happen. She\u2019s an absolute imbecile. She should have at least googled what happened before she opened her dumb mouth!\u201d said a third.<\/p>\n

Crockett, an attorney, has previously made gaffes indicating a twisted understanding of the criminal justice system, including the infamously ponderous statement \u201cjust because someone has committed a crime, it doesn\u2019t make them a criminal\u201d on Jonathan Van Ness\u2019 \u201cGetting Better\u201d podcast, for which she was widely ridiculed.<\/p>\n

A Collin County jury \u2014 composed of white, Asian and Hispanic members \u2014 deliberated for about three hours Tuesday before finding Anthony, now 19, guilty of first-degree murder.<\/p>\n

He was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the killing.<\/p>\n
