Kyle Busch was lying on a bathroom floor coughing up blood the day before he died, according to a 911 call obtained by The California Post.<\/p>\n

In the audio, a man can be heard asking for an ambulance to come to the General Motors Charlotte Technical Center in Concord, N.C. at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday after the NASCAR star had suffered some kind of medical emergency.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got an individual that\u2019s shortness of breath, very hot, thinks he\u2019s going to pass out and is producing a little bit of blood \u2014 coughing up some blood,\u201d the man told dispatch.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is awake,\u201d the man later added. \u201cHe\u2019s awake. He\u2019s on the bathroom floor right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

The man then can be heard giving emergency medical personnel instructions for the quickest way to get to Busch when they arrive at the property.<\/p>\n

Busch was ultimately taken to a nearby hospital with what his family called \u201ca severe illness.\u201d<\/p>\n

He later died on Thursday at 41 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch,\u201d NASCAR said. \u201cOur entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

An official cause of death has not yet been revealed.<\/p>\n

Busch\u2019s passing rocked the racing world, as tributes from current and former drivers poured in the hours after his death was announced.<\/p>\n

\u201cKyle was one of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history. No one can deny that,\u201d Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared on X. \u201cBut he was also a father, a husband, brother, son, and a friend to many. My heart is broken for the Busch family. I will never be able to make sense of this loss but I am thankful that we had found a way to become friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere aren\u2019t really words for today,\u201d Ricky Stenhouse Jr. wrote in a statement on his social media page. \u201cI\u2019ve raced against Kyle for a long time, and anyone who\u2019s lined up next to him knows exactly what made him special, he gave you everything he had, every single lap, and he made all of us better for it.<\/p>\n

\u201cRest easy, Rowdy. The sport won\u2019t be the same without you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Busch, whose older brother is NASCAR icon Kurt Busch, is survived by his two children and his wife, Samantha.<\/p>\n
