Israel struck several military targets in Iran on Sunday, hours after the Islamic Republic launched a barrage of missiles at the Jewish State.<\/p>\n

The Israeli Defense Forces said its air force struck targets \u201cbelonging to the Iranian terror regime\u201d in western and central Iran in a statement on X Sunday evening.<\/p>\n

Iran state media separately reported that explosions were heard in Tehran, Tabriz and Isfahan after Israel fired \u201cair-launched ballistic missiles,\u201d citing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Israeli military hit Iranian surface-to-surface missile launch sites and non-energy infrastructure, Israel\u2019s ambassador to the US, Yechiel Leiter, said.<\/p>\n

Nearly two hours later, the Israel Air Force said that it was intercepting a missile \u201cfrom the direction of Yemen toward Israeli territory.\u201d<\/p>\n

A missile hasn\u2019t been launched from Yemen at Israel since April 4 \u2013 just four days before the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire between the US and Iran went into effect.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Iran fired at least 10 missiles at Israel, all of which were intercepted. Iranian officials claimed responsibility and asserted the attack was in response to Israel\u2019s bombardment of Lebanon that morning.<\/p>\n

Israel\u2019s strike violated its delicate cease-fire with Lebanon. Both countries agreed to the US-brokered cease-fire last week, but Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah rejected it.<\/p>\n

President Trump said he would convince Israel\u2019s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu out of conducting a retaliatory strike on Iran, telling the Financial Times that he\u2019s still the one \u201ccalling the shots.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe won\u2019t have any choice,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Israel, however, has insisted on maintaining its military presence in Lebanon despite US officials\u2019 demands for deescalation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Sunday, IDF officials defiantly announced they would \u201ccontinue to operate\u201d and \u201cintensify its actions against the Hezbollah terrorist organization\u201d in Lebanon, even though Israel agreed to a cease-fire that stipulated a decrease in hostility between the warring countries.<\/p>\n

Trump told NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet The Press\u201d that he is \u201cnot demanding\u201d that Lebanon be included in the greater cease-fire deal for the Iran War.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s military subsequently shared a statement with regime media on Sunday accusing Israel and the US of violating the April cease-fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOur acceptance of the ceasefire on April 8 was conditional on a ceasefire on ALL fronts; but as always, America and Israel did not adhere to their commitment, they continued the aggression and crimes in Lebanon, and attacked Iranian vessels,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

Before Israel\u2019s strikes in Lebanon, Iran warned an attack would spark a full-scale war across the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Israel, Lebanon, and foreign intermediaries are supposed to meet for negotiations the week of June 22, according to the State Department.<\/p>\n
