President Trump said he planned to tell Israel\u2019s prime minister not to retaliate after Iran launched a missile attack on the Jewish State Sunday \u2014\u00a0 noting that further escalation will only stall the fragile ceasefire negotiations.<\/p>\n

Iran fired at least 10 missiles at Israel on Sunday, hours after the Israeli Defense Forces launched its own attack on a Hezbollah command center in Beirut.<\/p>\n

Trump told Fox News that he \u201cwasn\u2019t happy\u201d about Israel\u2019s brazen attack on Beirut after he\u2019d told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stand down. But he recognized that Iran\u2019s latest blow wasn\u2019t \u201cgoing to help negotiations\u201d either.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I would suggest to Iran: You\u2019ve shot your missiles, that\u2019s enough. Get back to the table and make a deal,\u201d Trump told the outlet.<\/p>\n

The president also boasted about the power of the US military and the ongoing naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, which has choked Iran\u2019s oil-reliant economy.<\/p>\n

Trump separately told Axios that he was \u201ccalling Netanyahu right now and telling him not to attack Iran in response.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reached by The Post Sunday afternoon, Trump also said in a brief phone interview that \u201cthings are going very well.\u201d<\/p>\n
