When the Israeli navy detained Greta Thunberg and other pro-Hamas radicals who were trying to \u201cbreak the siege on Gaza,\u201d the global sob-sister class went crazy on cue, crying about international piracy and Israeli mistreatment of the fake aid workers, including such torture as sending them home in coach<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Which makes the fate of other members of the same group so telling: The Global Sumud Flotilla, traveling overland from Tunisia, found themselves seized by Libyan forces and held incommunicado for weeks, and the world\u2019s moral police said . . . nothing.<\/p>\n

Crickets.<\/p>\n

No marches or protests.<\/p>\n

No front-page coverage alleging torture and beatings.<\/p>\n

No lawyers rushing to demand access to the detained \u201chumanitarians.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the clearest example of \u201cNo Jews, no news\u201d we\u2019ve seen since Hamas terrorists invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, massacring 1,200 innocents and taking 250 hostage.<\/p>\n

According to Sumud, 10 members of its \u201cLand Convoy,\u201d including several Europeans, Argentinians and one American, were detained at a checkpoint in eastern Libya on May 24, \u201cforced into unmarked white vans and disappeared to an unknown location.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a week in isolation, the group was hauled before a prosecutor in Benghazi, denied counsel and ordered held another 10 days.<\/p>\n

The American in the group, Jenelle Jones, filmed an \u201cSOS\u201d video soon released on Instagram: \u201cIf you are watching this video,\u201d she says, holding her US passport in front of her, \u201cit means I have been detained or abducted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sumud says its people are \u201cbeing held in an isolated, non-civilian prison complex operated by the Ministry of Interior, known locally as a \u2018black site.\u2019\u201d They have no access to the outside world or to medical treatment; some are reportedly refusing food and water.<\/p>\n

Aside from local coverage in Jones\u2019 hometown of Knoxville, Tenn., and a scattering of news on leftist websites, it\u2019s been a press blackout.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that French prosecutors are looking into Israel\u2019s \u201csuspected torture and war crimes\u201d of French nationals during the two or three days they were detained while being processed for deportation.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

What a naked demonstration of the double standard the \u201cinternational community\u201d employs when it comes to Israel and its neighbors.<\/p>\n

If Libya commits horrible human rights abuses, or half a million Sudanese civilians are killed . . . eh, that\u2019s par for the course, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

No need for protests, boycotts or hatred directed against Libyan or Sudanese citizens living abroad.<\/p>\n

The moral fervor\u2019s not really about anything Israel does, but purely about what Israel is: the Jewish state. <\/p>\n
