The City That Never Sleeps is about to have a \u201cCruel Summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pop superstar Taylor Swift\u2019s wedding to Travis Kelce in the iconic Madison Square Garden will add another bash to a Big Apple summer already jam-packed with mega-events.<\/p>\n

The \u201cBlank Space\u201d singer\u2019s nuptials expected over the July 4th holiday weekend will be stacked on top of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and celebrations for America\u2019s 250th anniversary of independence, including the Sail250 maritime gathering.<\/p>\n

City officials, especially within the NYPD, already spent months bracing for the logistical and security challenges from a crush of events \u2013 and then T-Swift and her lovable lunkhead Kelce, both 36, decided to turn MSG into their wedding venue, a plan confirmed by multiple sources to Page Six on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone\u2019s been sworn to secrecy,\u201d said one source.
Rumors that the \u201cWelcome to New York\u201d songstress and Kansas City Chiefs tight end would tie the knot in New York have swirled for weeks. Page Six reported in April that save-the-dates had gone out for a July 3 wedding in the city.<\/p>\n

State lawmakers even debated last month adding $250,000 to New York\u2019s state budget to help provide security for the pair\u2019s anticipated union in the Big Apple, but ultimately scrapped it.<\/p>\n

A rep for MSG did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

The expected swarm of tourists for the summer slate has already prompted officials to take a slew of drastic steps.<\/p>\n

Mayor Zohran Mamdani first issued an emergency order blocking events at city parks during the FIFA World Cup, drawing an outcry from lawmakers concerned it\u2019d wipe out a season\u2019s worth of free neighborhood programming across the city.<\/p>\n

He also announced that Midtown would fall under a \u201cgridlock alert\u201d during eight World Cup matches, along with draconian traffic restrictions \u2013 moves that dovetailed with unpopular transit maneuvers to deal with soccer fans heading from Penn Station.<\/p>\n

The difficulty of ensuring the back-to-back-to-back-to-back events, including the Fourth of July, would be safe eventually prompted Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to take the extraordinary step of calling on rank-and-file cops to work 12-hour shifts.<\/p>\n

As Tisch rattled off the events during a City Council hearing Monday, she cheekily included \u201cpotentially Taylor Swift\u2019s wedding.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m kidding,\u201d she quickly added.<\/p>\n

The joke now appears to be turning into reality.<\/p>\n

But the power couple\u2019s camp has been told they shouldn\u2019t expect any streets to be closed down and that they would have to pay for their own security, sources told The Post.<\/p>\n

City officials read the riot act to representatives for Swift and Kelce during a recent meeting about the pair\u2019s potential wedding plans, the sources said.<\/p>\n

The \u201cLover\u201d singer, who has a pad in Tribeca, and Kelce were spotted several times around the city last month, dining at spots like Or\u2019esh and Via Carota.<\/p>\n

The speculation was that the megastars were in town to oversee preparations for the big day.<\/p>\n

Swift has performed at Madison Square Garden eight times, once for 2009\u2019s \u201cFearless\u201d tour, twice for \u201cSpeak Now,\u201d and four times for the Z100 Jingle Ball.<\/p>\n

But her decision to tie the knot at MSG might raise eyebrows with hardcore Knicks fans as she turned up with Kelce during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in Cleveland on May 23 \u2014 with the pro-baller wearing a Cavaliers cap.<\/p>\n

A source said \u201cprivacy was of number one importance to them both\u201d when it came to picking a place for the high-profile occasion.<\/p>\n

The source added that the potential plan would involve guests being transported to the venue on blacked-out buses and taking advantage of MSG\u2019s multiple entrances and highly secure infrastructure. Perhaps tellingly, the venue has no events from June 29 through July 6.<\/p>\n

But sources generally said they didn\u2019t know the exact layout for the event, although they noted several hundred people can fit on the floor, provided the seats are taken out.<\/p>\n

While Madison Square Garden seems an odd choice for a ceremony, one source wasn\u2019t worried.<\/p>\n

\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIf you have billions you can transform the space into a wedding venue,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

Another source resorted to bitter sarcasm while venting about the demands the wedding will place on the NYPD.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf all the critical events in NYC this year \u2013 this is the only one that matters,\u201d the source railed.<\/p>\n

\u201cTotally ignorant of resources already stretched thin by Sail250, FIFA and general summer violence reduction. Cops on 12-hour tours working (regular days off). Take the show somewhere else, please.\u201d<\/p>\n
