Anthony Head, best known for his roles in \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d and \u201cTed Lasso,\u201d has died. He was 72.<\/p>\n

The British actor died \u201cpeacefully of complications due to pneumonia,\u201d his daughters, actresses Emily and Daisy Head,\u00a0said in a statement on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father, Anthony Head,\u201d the statement began.<\/p>\n

Emily and Daisy called it \u201can honor and a privilege\u201d to be Anthony\u2019s daughters.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know how dearly he will be missed by friends, colleagues, and fans of the shows he was in \u2013 he loved his job very much, and he always considered himself incredibly lucky, to have been able to work alongside such exceptionally talented people, in such wonderful productions, across a career that spanned several decades,\u201d the pair added.<\/p>\n

The sisters said while their \u201cgrief is far greater than the hole he has left behind,\u201d they know their dad\u2019s \u201clegacy will live on\u201d thanks to the popular TV shows he was in.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow lucky we are to know we are able to watch him doing what he loved, even when he is no longer with us,\u201d they added. <\/p>\n

Emily and Daisy asked for their privacy to be \u201crespected at this difficult time\u201d at the end of their statement.<\/p>\n

Head\u2019s passing comes less than six months after his longtime partner, Sarah Fisher, with whom he shared his two daughters, died at age 61.<\/p>\n

In a Dec. 29, 2025 Facebook post, Emily and Daisy said their mom\u2019s death \u201ccame with very little warning\u201d and was \u201cimmensely shocking to us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know how profoundly she has impacted the lives of so many, and we couldn\u2019t be more proud of the legacy she is leaving behind,\u201d Emily and Daisy wrote. \u201cWe only wish she\u2019d had more time to share her knowledge and brilliance with us, and the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

They said in their statement Fisher \u201cdidn\u2019t want a funeral.\u201d<\/p>\n

Head and Fischer were together from 1982 until her dead. In 2018, he told the Daily Telegraph that she never wanted to get married despite their decades-long relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe just isn\u2019t interested. She says f\u2013k off and then runs off to throw up,\u201d he said at the time.<\/p>\n

Head added: I just can\u2019t imagine my life without Sarah. And I definitely wouldn\u2019t want to.\u201d<\/p>\n
