WASHINGTON \u2013 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu predicted regime change is coming to Iran as he downplayed talk of any rift between him and President Trump.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu told CNBC that it remains an \u201copen question\u201d on how the war with Iran will end but said Trump is weighing several options.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve wreaked a lot of damage to this regime, not destroyed it, but weakened it. We see the cracks propagating in the regime,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Regime change was key to end the war, he noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to help the Iranian people to bring down this regime, and that hasn\u2019t changed,\u201d he said, conceding it won\u2019t happen \u201cexactly at the moment of our choosing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The prime minister held the line on Iran, warning them Israel and the US were prepared to launch another round of military strikes and cautioned them against \u201cplaying with fire.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tehran launched a deadly new attack in the Persian Gulf on Wednesday as the ceasefire talks have stalled.\u00a0<\/p>\n

President Trump told The Post\u2019s Miranda Devine that the talks are \u201crapidly evolving\u201d but cautioned the US may need to keep up its naval blockade on Iran through Labor Day<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. I mean, I think it could be [closed through Labor Day], but I think it\u2019s unlikely. I think that we\u2019ll have it. I think this will resolve itself fairly quickly,\u201d he said on the Pod Force One podcast out Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu echoed the comments, saying how the war ends remains \u201can open question, because the reality is open.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president is weighing many options,\u201d he told CNBC.<\/p>\n

He also warned Tehran that Trump is \u201cnot a pushover\u201d and asked them if they really wanted another round of military action with the United States and Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a tactical game that is being played, and Iran surely knows what the president has said,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cUS forces are ready. I think Iran should take that into account.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re playing with fire,\u201d he noted. \u201cThat\u2019s clear.\u201d<\/p>\n

The US military did bat down several drone attacks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

CENTCOM said the US shot down \u201cthree one-way attack drones launched by Iran toward civilian mariners that were rightfully transiting regional waters.\u201d<\/p>\n

It said American forces had also conducted what it described as \u201cself-defense strikes\u201d on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Netanyahu also dodged a question on whether Trump called him \u201cf\u2014ing crazy\u201d in a phone conversation, which the president confirmed he did so in his Pod Force One interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to get into details of our conversations. We\u2019ve had thousands,\u201d the prime minister said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He conceded he and Trump had \u201ctactical disagreements,\u201d adding: \u201cWe always find a way to work them out. And we do so as great friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
