So maybe Ben Grable, an 11th-round pick out of Indiana University last year who has sawed through competition at High-A Hudson Valley and Double-A Somerset, making him a late addition to Sunday’s All-Star Futures Game, is not unique.

Two outs away from taking another step back after Thursday’s eruption against the Rays, Jazz Chisholm Jr. saved the day to secure the Yankees back-to-back wins for the first time in over two weeks. Trailing by a run and facing one-time Yankee lefty Matt Krook with one out in the ninth inning, Chisholm clobbered a two-run shot into the second deck to lift the Yankees to a dramatic 5-3 win over the Nationals on Friday night at Nationals Park. 

The Yankees were 11-4 losers against in The Bronx on a sweltering Saturday in front of 40,156.

Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm, inserted in the leadoff spot, was tossed after striking out to end the top of the sixth inning.

A verdict has finally arrived on Aaron Judge’s injury. The Yankees captain has been diagnosed with a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the team said Thursday night. He will be relegated to rest and limited activity and then be reimaged in about four to six weeks to determine how much improvement he has made and what his next steps might be.

The Guardians had jokes for Jazz Chisholm’s Tonight Show appearance.

The Yankees are back in action in The Bronx, but Aaron Judge is absent from the lineup. The slugger, in the midst of a turbulent season offensively, is taking a seat for the series-opener against the Guardians following the Bombers’ off-day on Monday.

The first six Yankees were retired in order Sunday afternoon. It took another 13 batters before they made another out against the A’s.
