Trump reveals pick for next POTUS and VP to super agent Ari Emanuel

Ari Emanuel details in his new book, “Roll the Calls,” how he’d let Donald Trump go as a client — but he told Rachel Maddow in a Q&A last night that he’d spoken to the president just weeks ago, and he even tipped off the crowd who Trump is hoping takes office next.

An audience of over 650 packed the 92nd Street Y — where MS Now anchor Maddow interviewed the top WME Group and TKO exec.

An attendee told us: “No punches were pulled by Maddow,” in the talk covering politics, agenting, media, the Emanuel family and… gut health.

Emanuel said he’d spoken to Trump about the proposed U.S. federal tax credit for film and TV production.

“I spoke to him three weeks ago,” Emanuel reportedly revealed at the 92nd Street Y book talk, also telling Maddow and the audience at the event that Trump told him “he thought JD [Vance] and Marco Rubio would be a formidable group” in the next election, with Vance as a presidential candidate and the Secretary of State as Veep.

In “Roll the Calls,” Emanuel writes that he dropped Trump as a client when Trump was first elected president, revealing, “I tell him I’ve never dropped a client with such ease… And I tell him I didn’t vote for him.”

He also reveals how he first signed Trump — then a star of “The Apprentice” — who called him out of the blue while Emanuel was on the golf course during a Palm Springs retreat to grouse about his NBC contract.

“This is Donald Trump… Did you do that deal for Conan O’Brien?” the future POTUS asks after an unknown number pops up.

Hard-charging Emanuel got O’Brien a settlement for $45 million at the time when the comedian was canned from “The Tonight Show” by Jeff Zucker — in what Emanuel dubs, “a classic example of corporate malpractice.”

“I’m having my own problems with NBC,” Trump told Emanuel. “They show me no respect, Ari!”

“Trump’s reality show, ‘The Apprentice,’ was once among the highest-rated shows on TV. But he’s no longer feeling the love from Zucker,” Ari writes.

“He says he wants me to rep him. Okay, I say,” the agent recalls as they way they started their business relationship.

During the Maddow talk, Emanuel defended holding TKO’s big “UFC Fredom 250” event on the White House lawn over the summer, and  addressed his friendship with Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, telling Maddow, “I’ve changed him a little.”

In the book, we previously reported, Musk and Emanuel’s client Larry David almost came to blows before dinner was served at Emanuel’s wedding.

But Emanuel was supportive of Musk’s efforts with Neuralink and SpaceX during the talk, and he also defended David and Larry Ellison when Maddow said that CBS News and “60 Minutes” under the Ellisons and Bari Weiss has been an “embarrassment.”

But Emanuel pointed out that while Stephen Colbert‘s show was pulled at CBS, controversial “South Park” and “The Daily Show” have continued under Paramount Skydance.

The attendee described it as “a fair fight between two evenly matched opponents.”

But Emanuel and Maddow hugged it out at the end.

The uber-agent is next headed to Chicago for a chat tonight with liberal CNN pundit David Axelrod at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park.

Meanwhile, the Armory Show — the annual art confab owned by Emanuel’s Frieze art fair — kicks off at NYC’s Javits Center this weekend.
