Benjamin Netanyahu furiously disputes bombshell new claim he was warned about Oct. 7 attacks 10 days before

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected new claims that he was directly warned that Hamas was planning a major operation before the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack, according to a new book.

UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed allegedly spoke to Netanyahu 10 days before the attack, warning the ally state that terror mastermind Yahya Sinwar was planning an operation, the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported, citing the book.

Netanyahu’s office slammed the claims, made in a book authored by Israeli journalists, as an “absolute lie,” adding that such a phone call never happened.

The allegations come just weeks before Israel is set to hold its national elections, with Netanyahu facing increased pressure over the wars in Gaza and Iran.

Reporters Shlomi Eldar and Ruth Yuva renewed allegations that Netanyahu’s government had been warned ahead of time about Oct. 7 in their new book, “Kidnapped: 843 Days of Abandonment.” 

The book claims the UAE specifically warned Netanyahu that Hamas was planning a “major operation” against the Jewish state that could “destabilize the entire region.”

Eldar and Yuva cite senior officials, recordings, internal documents and correspondences, as well as a close adviser to bin Zayed. 

The allegations echo reports from US lawmakers in the wake of the terror attack that Egyptian intelligence officials also provided Israel with a warning about a possible terrorist attack days before Hamas launched its operation. 

Oct. 7 saw Hamas invade Israel and kill more than 1,200 people living in the border communities, with the terrorists kidnapping 251 others and kickstarting the war.  

Despite repeated calls for an expansive investigation into what went wrong on Oct. 7, Netanyahu has rejected an official government inquiry into the incident.

The prime minister remains the only top leader who has yet to resign over the failures of Oct. 7, with Israel’s military and intelligence chiefs stepping down since the terrorist attack.
