Giants give Jon Runyan Jr. two-year, $22 million extension to secure key offensive line piece

On a day when the Giants extended backup quarterback Jameis Winston, they also ensured they’ll have another piece of their offensive line for another two seasons, too.

Big Blue and left guard Jon Runyan Jr. agreed to a two-year extension Sunday worth $22 million — with $21.5 million in guaranteed money — that adds to a contract set to expire at the end of 2026, The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy confirmed. 

Both moves could also aid the Giants in getting under the salary cap in 2026. Over that Cap has Big Blue over by about $1.18 million.

Runyan, 29, is entering his third season with the Giants, and he’s part of an offensive line that returns four starters from last season — with right guard Sisi Mauigoa the lone newcomer — protecting Jaxson Dart.
